Kerry Washington Secretly Got Married to NFL Player? (Update)

Kerry Washington married? Kerry Washington is on fire right now, and her portrayal as Olivia Pope on “Scandal” has not only made her one of the hottest black actresses on the scene at the moment, but it’s also opening plenty of doors and nabbing her plenty of high profile magazine covers. Kerry’s always very vocal when it comes to her character and being on one of the most popular television shows, but she’s very mum when it comes to her personal life. Unfortunately for Kerry, the hotter you are, the more the media will probe and pick at your personal life. And according to a new report, the actress got secretly hitched to NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha. Blogger Terez Owens writes:

Former Raiders, Eagles, and now current 49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha has never stuck with one team for too long, but now we’re receiving word he’s in it for the long haul with actress girlfriend Kerry Washington. Here’s what our source says, “We just received word that actress Kerry Washington has married NFL player Nnamdi Asomugha. Kerry and Nnamdi have been dating since Summer 2012.″

 

Now the site goes on to say confirmation is pending, and neither Kerry nor Nnamdi’s spokespeople have released any statements as of yet regarding the rumor. So for now, we’ll just have to wait to see if it will get confirmed by Kerry or Nnamdi’s camps. But in the meantime, if true, we have to pat Kerry on the back for keeping something like this a real secret. Looks like the beautiful actress might have learned a few things from her scandalous character Olivia Pope.

 

Update: It’s been confirmed, US Weekly got access to the marriage license. The site reports:

Records show that Washington and Asomugha filed a marriage license on June 24 in Blaine County, Idaho, though it appears the two actually got married in the town of Hailey, Idaho, with her parents as witnessses. Asomugha’s sister officiated. (E! News was first to confirm the marriage, after a story appeared on sports gossip site TerezOwens.)”It has been recorded in the Blaine County clerk’s office that Nnamdi Asomugha and Kerry Washington have been married on the 24th of June in the town of Hailey, Idaho,” the clerk’s office told Us in a statement.
