The Kobe Bryant and Dwight Howard beef is back on. Dwight Howard has had everyone, including Los Angeles Lakers fans on pins and needles regarding what his next move will be, however, it’s now been confirmed that he is leaving the team behind and joining the Houston Rockets. And according to reports, Dwight’s decision was mainly a result of his sour feelings towards Kobe Bryant and the overall mentality of Lakers fans. Apparently, Dwight didn’t like the fact that Kobe insisted he could show Dwight how to be a champion. We’re assuming Kobe knows this too because after Dwight confirmed he would be joining the Houston Rockets via his Twitter account, Kobe Bryant unfollowed him on Twitter. The Hollywood Reporter writes:

Almost immediately after NBA star Dwight Howard announced he was leaving the Los Angeles Lakers for the Houston Rockets, two of his ex-teammates made their displeasure known in perhaps the quietest (but still public) way possible.

Both Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol unfollowed him on Twitter. (Gasol has since refollowed Howard.)

Kobe also took his feelings about Dwight’s move to his Instagram account:

Shortly after, Bryant posted a picture to Instagram of Gasol holding Bryant’s head, along with the words “#vamos #juntos #lakercorazon #vino.”

The first three roughly translate as “let’s go,” “together,” and “Laker heart,” while vino is what Bryant took to calling himself after a friend gave him the nickname in February.

Here’s the photo Kobe posted to his Instagram account:

On the move to the Houston Rockets, Dwight Howard released the following statement:

I’ve decided to become a member of the Houston Rockets. I feel its the best place for me and I am excited about joining the Rockets and I’m looking forward to a great season. I want to thank the fans in Los Angeles and wish them the best.

  1. Dwight Howard is such a queen it’s ridiculous. I don’t blame Kobe. Unfollow that bum and pretend like he never existed. I know I do.

  2. Kobe is so petty don’t fault somebody for doing the what they think is what’s best for them. I don’t even like Dwight but he had a right to make his own choice. I don’t blame Dwight, Kobe is hurt ,Steve Nash is old he jumped ship just in time cause the Lakers are sorry.

  3. LOL! Dwight is so dramatic though! He will never get a ring. He is always leaving teams and severely overrated in my book!

  4. Kobe never liked Dwight and the feeling was mutual. It’s for the best. The Lakers need to hire Phil back and get it together. Time to rebuild, Kobe won’t be around too much longer.

  5. I hate that times have changed so much that unfollowing someone on Twitter is considered the ultimate diss. LOL.

  6. Kobe is a champion. You can’t teach a bum like Dwight how to be a winner. He has to want that for himself. I’m glad he’s gone. Now he’ll go to the next team and do absolutely nothing but collect a paycheck.
