Beyonce Essence Festival performance shatters attendance record? Even if you’re not a member of the BeyHive, you have to admit Beyonce Knowles-Carter is one entertainer who truly knows how to put on a show. The halftime performance she put on for this year’s Super Bowl seemed to create more excitement than the actual game itself did as avid fans labeled the biggest game in professional football “The Beyonce Bowl.” And to get them going even more, Bey slid a Destiny’s Child reunion segment into her show as her former band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined her on stage.

As she prepares to drop her fifth studio album, Beyonce continues to reveal her new music during her performances for “The Mrs. Carter Show” world tour. And the singer received a huge round of applause over her concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California with a reviewer pinning Beyonce as “the greatest entertainer of her generation.”

After those in attendance got the chance to enjoy performances from Janelle Monae and a number of other talented artists, Beyonce took to the stage to wrap things up Sunday night as she closed out the 19th annual Essence Music Festival with a performance in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans. And not only did she wow fans and fellow artists alike, Beyonce managed to smash the iconic Janet Jackson’s attendance record as her performance drew in a crowd of over 70,000 people, setting a new record for the magazine’s annual festival.

Congrats to Beyonce on shattering the attendance record for the Essence Music Festival.
