A Eddie Griffin lawsuit filed over incident at club with fans? Eddie Griffin is back at it with his stand-up comedy routines as the comedian has been on a hiatus for a while. And though Eddie is back to doing what he loves to do, he may have gotten himself into some serious trouble. For a minute, funnyman Katt Williams was experiencing his string of run-ins with the law as he was getting hit with lawsuits left and right, and one fan even claimed the comedian got physical with them during one of his shows. And now Eddie Griffin has found himself in a similar situation as things got way out of hand and has resulted in the comedian getting slapped with a lawsuit. TMZ reports.
Eddie Griffin is being sued by a woman who claims the comic targeted her and her GF during a homophobic comedy routine … sexually harassing them while on stage, then attacking them with a water bottle.
The partner of the woman Griffin soaked is Leslie Champlin, and she just filed the lawsuit against Griffin and Tommy T’s.
Champlin claims Tommy T’s let Griffin take the stage while drunk … and the comedian proceeded to launch into a homophobic routine targeting the lesbian couple, thrusting his crotch in their faces, and saying things like they “would not need a strap-on or vibrator” with his help.
At that point, Champlin’s partner threw her drink at Griffin — and Griffin flipped, dumping his water on her. In the lawsuit, Champlin claims the crowd also turned on her and her gf, pelting them with drinks as well.
Champlin says she and her GF were kicked out of the club … and never received an apology from Griffin OR the club. Griffin later defended himself on Facebook, calling the women “dyke bitches.”
The website also goes on to say the woman who filed the lawsuit is now suing for civil rights violations as she claims she was discriminated against based on her sexual preference, along with negligence and battery.

This is why celebs need to just start suing people. Too many times people feel they can do whatever they want to a celeb, but if the celeb does it back they think they are the only ones that are entitled to some money and a lawsuit. Eddie should countersue this heifer for tossing the drink first and harassing him while he was on stage doing his JOB.
Agreed. If more celebs started suing people and holding people accountable, I think a lot of people wouldn’t be so bold.

He was clearly just telling some jokes they didn’t like. If you don’t like it, leave. Get a refund. But don’t toss a drink on stage and expect everyone to be okay with that. Some comedians will go off if you throw things. She’s lucky it wasn’t Katt Williams. He would have hopped off the stage and fought them like two dudes. LOL.

See this is the thinking that makes people think they can do whatever they want to a celeb and go unpunished. We all have the same rights, fame or no fame!
That lawsuit won’t hold. A comedian can legally tell whatever jokes they want to and she technically started the confrontation by throwing the drink at him. He ought to countersue.
