Snoop Dogg angers fans by showing up late to concert? Snoop Dogg, also known as Snoop Lion, has been in the rap game for many years now. And even though he has switched up his style and image, the rapper’s diehard fans are still rocking with him and shelling out money to attend his concerts. While he still has a sizable fan base, Snoop’s support of ex-NFL player and accused murderer Aaron Hernandez rubbed some of them the wrong way. And with one of his most recent performances, Snoop Dogg angered his fans to the point where they started hurling beers at the stage.
Snoop Dogg was set to perform on Tuesday night in Portland, Oregon at 10:00pm but didn’t arrive until around 12:00 midnight. According to a report from Oregon Live, DJ O.G. One claims Snoop’s fans in the audience were very upset with the rapper for showing up two hours late to the concert and they began booing and throwing beers onto the stage. A number of Snoop Dogg’s fans who paid to see him perform left before he started to perform.
The owner of Mike Thrasher Presents, the booking company responsible for bringing Snoop to the Roseland Theater, claims members of his company have been trying to get in contact with Snoop Dogg’s management team to get some clarification as to why he showed up so late to the show and whether or not fans will able to get their money back for the tickets they purchased. This is not the first time the company has booked Snoop Dogg for a performance as the owner revealed that the rapper has arrived late to a performance in the past but assures everyone that this is not the norm for the concerts they book.
A few of the concert goers spoke out on the incident and how they felt about Snoop’s tardiness.
Morgan Cauch says on the Roseland’s Facebook page:
“Really disappointed after last nights show. $45 to stand and listen to Pandora? Unreal. I hope a lesson was learned and you guys don’t book Snoop Dogg again.”
She also added that Snoop performed for only 30 minutes, stopped right in the middle of a song and then left the stage as some of the audience members were “kicked out.”
Derek Jensen says this isn’t the first time Snoop has kept his fans in Portland waiting:
“He has done this the last two times he came to Portland, at Arlene schnitz a couple years ago he came on 4 hours late and preformed for 45 mins…most of which was his crew and not him…”
People still pay to see Snoop?
My thoughts exactly.
Fail.
Who does Snoop think he is – Rihanna?
Hope not because he’s definitely more talented.
People better stop taking advantage of their fans. Smh.
Agreed. Fans will make you and break you if you get stupid.
These artist better start respecting these smaller shows they book. Without these fans, they would not eat. Word to 3 stacks.
This is getting insane. There celebrities need to learn to respect their fans. You wouldn’t have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of without them. Now when people start illegally downloading their music again they’re going to get mad.
How hard is it to be respectful and to show up on time?
