Kanye West rant backfires? Rapper Kanye West has pretty much established himself as one of the most sought out artists and producers to work with in the music industry, but Kanye’s behavior outside of his talent is usually what keeps him in the headlines these days. Kanye’s hate for the paparazzi has been the force behind his attack of several paps in the last year, and now that he’s been charged for his most recent attack, it’s clear that Kanye might want to rethink his approach in handing one of the main parts of fame he claims to hate. When Kanye isn’t attacking paps, he’s ranting about them on stage and lately he’s also been ranting quite a bit about artists selling out for corporate sponsorships. In Kanye’s most recent rant which went down at his artist’s Pusha T’s listening party for his “My Name is My Name” album, he spoke very passionately and angrily about corporate sponsorships, and slammed some artists for being “sellouts.”

Interestingly enough, a new report from the New York Post via Page Six is claiming the rapper’s most recent rant about “sellouts” may have backfired. According to the publication, Kanye’s recent tirade of words has turned off lots of potential sponsors, and this is terrible timing considering the rapper is looking for sponsors for his fashion line, and over the top live performances.

Kanye also might have burned a bridge with Hennessy because he got on the mic and bragged about being “a little off that Goose right now” and it was actually Hennessy who sponsored Pusha T’s listening party. To make matters worse, he didn’t even show up at an event the next day hosted by Hennessy (Nas’s birthday party) and he was scheduled to attend. A source also tells Page Six:

“Sponsors are scared away because he’s so unpredictable.”

  1. Kanye is too ignorant to understand that businesses don’t want to work with the person who claims to hate them so much.

  2. Well Kanye should be happy he said he didn’t want to sellout and be in business with corporations. So he getting exactly what he wanted. But I bet this fake sellout stuff will come to a halt because now it is messing with his money. Hypocrite!

  3. I don’t blame these companies. Kanye will take their money and then turn around and trash them on stage. It’s not worth it. They can just call his BFF Jay Z and he’ll be professional enough to know better.

  4. Kanye is just a walking contradiction. You can’t say you hate corporations but you want a fashion line and then you also have your own line of sneakers with Nike. I think he’s just annoying and companies don’t want anything to do with him.

  5. Karma. He thinks it’s so cute to rant on stage, well let’s see how cute it is when no one wants to work with you anymore. He needs to be humbled. He’s a grown man who acts like a spoiled brat.

  6. If he ever stats losing money, he can kiss Kim Kardashian’s gold digging a-s goodbye! She won’t stay with him if he’s not relevant and loaded!

  7. My how the mighty have fallen! He’s had one too many rants and now companies are distancing themselves from him! Hilarious!

  8. It wouldn’t be a good look for a company to work with Kanye right now anyway. His popularity and likability has really deceased.
