Kerry Washington talks about Scandal in recent interview? It became very obvious several years ago that Kerry Washington would become a big name in Hollywood in no time as the actress has received a heavy round of applause for the movie roles she has taken on throughout her career. However, it has been her hit TV show “Scandal” that has everyone talking about Kerry’s exceptional talent as she has made history with her portrayal of Olivia Pope with an Emmy nomination.
Despite having to defend her character Olivia over her relationship with Fitz, Kerry has said before she is very happy about the fact that women of all races can look past her character’s race and just enjoy the show. Although Kerry Washington didn’t walk away with an Emmy award this year, it hasn’t lessened the excitement about the new season of “Scandal” one bit at all.
For the November issue, ESSENCE sits down with Hollywood’s “It Girl” Kerry Washington to talk all things Scandal, which returns to the small screen on Thursday, October 3. Kerry chatted with the publication about the hit TV show and revealed the impact the show has on viewers. Kerry says “Scandal” fans get so wrapped up in what is going on in the show to the point where viewers feel like they actually have a relationship with the cast members as if they are a part of the “Scandal” themselves:
“People are sitting on their couches and they’re in a relationship with us. When people come up to me, they’re saying, ‘What are you going to do next week?'”
