On the season premiere of “Basketball Wives,” Jennifer lashes out as Christian’s legal issues become a focal point. Here are the highlights for, “It’s Giving Foe.”
Christian’s legal issues are a sore spot for Jennifer.
Jennifer and Christian are dealing with his ongoing legal issues. The high from their Paris wedding didn’t last long because Christian was sentenced to jail for probation violation. It was a post from Jennifer’s Instagram account that led to this. Jennifer feels guilty and believes her spotlight has only brought more drama to Christian’s once-private life.
Interestingly enough, Jennifer tells producers that none of the cast attended her wedding. Jackie wasn’t invited because they weren’t good at the time. Everyone else said they had other obligations. In hindsight, Jennifer is glad Evelyn didn’t attend. The recording from the previous reunion left a bad taste in Jennifer’s mouth.
Chantel makes her debut as a basketball wife.
Jackie’s daughter Chantel is back in LA to see if she can get her newborn son into modeling. Her husband is DaQuan Jeffries, a Charlotte Hornets player. Chantel also has a daughter from a previous relationship. Her ex is not allowing their child to film the show.
Chantel doesn’t have the best relationship with her mother. She feels like Jackie is controlling. While Jackie is visiting, Chantel shows moments of irritation with her. She hopes Jackie will respect the boundaries she has in place.
Jennifer talks about her fallout with Evelyn.
Brandi and Jennifer catch up. Since Brandi knows what it’s like to be publicly humiliated by her husband, she wants to support Jennifer in the best way possible. She doesn’t think she is the right person to speak about anyone else’s marriage. But she is concerned for Jennifer given the red flags surrounding Christian.
Jennifer confirms she isn’t on speaking terms with Evelyn due to her criticism of Christian. When she says Evelyn should have called her privately to talk about her concerns, Brandi says Evelyn did call many times but Jennifer never answered.
During a green screen interview, Jennifer says Brandi needs to stop worrying about her because she allowed the other women to talk her out of her marriage.
Evelyn has a FaceTime call with Carl’s cousin. She alleges that Christian scammed her out of $1500. And it was upsetting to see Christian and Jennifer show off their possessions on social media when she hasn’t gotten her money back.
Friendsgiving starts with one repaired friendship.
Brittany is back and she is now a Muslim. She tells Jackie that she decided to convert because she was going through challenging times for the last three years. Not only was she on bad terms with her child’s father but her mother allegedly stole from her. But she’s in a great place now and things have improved in her life. She’s even on cordial terms with her ex.
When it comes to the group, Brittany is upset with Evelyn. She didn’t like that Evelyn criticized the way she left the show after her first season. Since Evelyn will be at Jackie’s upcoming Friendsgiving event, Brittany will confront her there.
Jackie is eventually able to get Brittany and Evelyn to hash things out despite Friendsgiving starting off awkward. Evelyn apologizes for her comments and explains she was only responding to Brittany dragging her and the others in interviews. Brittany accepts her apology.
The progress ends with Jennifer and Evelyn.
Next up is Jennifer and Evelyn. Jackie encourages the former friends to address the elephant in the room, their fallout. Evelyn alleges that Christian stole from Carl’s cousin, and Jennifer denies this is the case. When Evelyn brings up that a woman on disability is also another alleged victim, Jennifer says Christian doesn’t know this woman. In response, Evelyn tries to hand Jennifer paperwork that shows his alleged clients are talking to the FBI. But Jennifer refuses to read any of it.
Evelyn tells Jennifer that people are starting to question if she is also spending money belonging to Christian’s clients. She could end up in some serious trouble if she doesn’t wake up.
Jennifer takes this as her cue to leave and tells Evelyn not to use her man as a storyline.
Jackie tells Evelyn to just let it go because Jennifer will always choose Christian.
When Christian is released from jail, Jennifer tells him about her blowup with Evelyn. He brushes off the accusation about him stealing from Carl’s cousin. In response, Christian says $1500 is what they spend when they eat out for dinner. He wouldn’t risk his reputation over $1500.
What are your thoughts on the episode?
Jennifer is too far gone and it is sad to watch. She will end up in prison with him if she doesn’t wake up.
I think her going to prison is exactly how this will end. And everyone who enabled her behavior because they don’t like Evelyn will fake shock and horror when it’s not a secret Christian is literally being investigated by the FBI. No one is lying on that man. Court documents are public record.
Let Jennifer enjoy her miserable life with Christian. Soon enough he may no longer play a key role in her life. So what does people’s children on this show supposed to have an impact on ratings? It’s not going to help.
Jennifer was the perfect victim for Christian. She’s on TV and she’s been lonely because of her mother’s passing, so she was looking for family/love. This will not end well.
