Actress Vivica A. Fox has always been known as one of black Hollywood’s most beautiful and outspoken actresses, however the actress’ love life hasn’t gone as great as she hoped. Vivica hasn’t been opposed to dating younger men in the past, but after her romance and engagement to then 28-year-old club promoter Slim (Omar White) ended on a sour note, it’s possible that the whole situation has changed her outlook on dating. In fact, in a recent interview with BET, she says she is no longer up for dating men who aren’t at least 30 years old, and she even admitted most of her bad relationship mistakes were due to her placing too much value in a man’s physical appearance:

“I used to be so lustful. I would lose my mind over a six pack and a smile, it would get me every time and usually get me in trouble. Pretty eyes, pretty teeth? Forget about it! But, I think now I’m looking for a good partner, just a good man, whereas before it would be mostly physical. Now, I need a man who’s a gentleman, more old-fashioned. Someone who I could laugh with and have fun with. I’m trying to date above 30 now. Thirty to 35 is the window. Not saying I won’t make an exception if someone special comes along, though! [Laughs]”

Vivica then says that despite her currently being single, she’s learned to be happy even though she’s currently not in a relationship. And after her engagement to Slim didn’t work out, she’s now ready to date:

“The best part is waking up every day and being able to do whatever I want. I don’t have to answer to anybody, ain’t nobody quizzing Vivica about where she’s going or what she’s doing! But seriously, it’s been a couple of years now since I broke up with my fiancé [Omar White], and I think I’m ready to start dating again.”

  1. Eh, I’m glad she gets it now. It takes men a lot longer than us to mature, so rarely do they have much to offer an older woman except a good time.

  2. SMH I just can’t believe it took Vivica this long to understand that she cannot have a serious relationship and build a life with someone that is that young. Does she not know guys mature slower then women. I learned very early that a six pack and smile is more than likely trouble lol.

  3. For your consideration:
