Rihanna and Chris Brown have been broken up for several months, and both singers seem to be staying true to the end of the romance and moving froward. Chris has been very busy prepping to drop his upcoming album “X,” and Rihanna’s career is major as ever as she just launched yet another makeup collection with MAC and she’s still on her Diamonds World Tour. However, Rihanna’s latest tattoo may be proof that she’s still not over her former flame, and the New Zealand tattoo artist who chiseled Rihanna’s latest tattoo (the artist used a chisel and mallet versus ink) on her hand says she got it to aid her in getting over Chris. Apparently the singer felt the new tat would represent leaving certain negative experiences in the past. Inia Taylor tells Celebuzz:

“I didn’t realize she had such a hard time. Apparently, she had such an a*shole of a boyfriend she said. The tattoo is just a reminder of the things in the past. Lord knows, she overcame a lot of that sh*t.

“It’s not about getting a tattoo, it’s a ceremony. Tattoos aren’t fashion. They are a way to get rid of pain in your life. You have to create pain to get over pain.”

Photos of the new tattoo were posted to Instagram, but her transparency was taken a step further since the footage of Rihanna getting the tattoo was posted to YouTube. In the video, the singer can be seen wincing from the pain but she does manage to crack a smile when the artist makes a few jokes and eventually she laughs a little through the pain.

  1. Why won’t she just get counseling? I don’t understand. She’s obviously still hurting and acting out in all kinds of outrageous ways.

    1. I feel like both of them need therapy and the reason they are so screwed up is because neither one of them ever got any help after the incident.

  2. It’s her body, so I don’t see a problem. Not everyone wants to sit down and get therapy. Some people prefer this way. I’m proud of her. She’s a very strong person.

  3. I don’t understand the fascination young people have with getting all these ugly and meaningless tattoos. When they get old, they will have wrinkled skin and wrinkled tattoos. It’s going to look gross.

  4. I’m pretty sure Chris went through a lot too when he was with her. That’s obvious by how off the chain she acts now.

  5. It’s not an attractive tattoo. It’s better ways to cope with emotional pain then putting yourself through physical pain.

  6. Some people use tats to cope, like getting something for a deceased loved one. But I don’t know if this will work for her. I think she really needs therapy.
