Basketball Wives season 5 reunion cancelled? “Basketball Wives” has been struggling something serious ever since the show became a target of backlash and petitions after season four became its most violent to date, and sponsors even pulled away from the show considering Tami Roman and Evelyn Lozada went too far with their antics which most labeled as bullying. Executive producer and one of the stars of the show Shaunie O’Neal promised that season five would be way more positive than any of the previous seasons, but in the end, ratings have been pretty dismal. However, the show did see a bump in ratings on the season finale since Suzie Ketcham and Kenya Bell came to blows. Before the fight, the show struggled to amass 2 million viewers, an achievement it achieved easily seasons prior and before the finale, numbers haven’t been that high since the season five premiere. And we’re sure “CrazySexyCool” helped ratings a little too on Monday night.

If that wasn’t bad enough, it’s now being reported that the reunion show for season five has been cancelled. According to TMZ, Evelyn Lozada is to blame because producers felt the need to cancel the reunion because she pulled out. Evelyn refused to show up to the reunion show reportedly because she is tired of talking about ex-husband Chad Johnson (who has moved on himself and now has a new boo), and she’s over the whole show. That’s no surprise since she did just say a few weeks ago that she didn’t see herself doing another season of the reality show.

As far as the other ladies, apparently the producers didn’t feel they had anything interesting enough to talk about that would churn out an hour long reunion show, so they have no plans to reschedule the reunion at all and taping for it has been axed completely.

Shaunie hasn’t responded to the report as of yet, but we expect her to.

  1. No one wants to hear about Chad anymore though. This show has run its course. They have nothing to talk about and they have to fight to get people to watch. It’s time to pull the plug.

  2. So they were going to talk about Chad for a full hour again even though that’s what killed the ratings this season? LOL!

  3. If they got the highest ratings of the season with that Kenya & Suzie fight, I expect them to go back to fighting next season. LOL.

  4. Girl goodbye. You had no problem talking about Chad every episode and in every interview for the last year! Have a seat.

    1. I completely agree now that she has milked the situation for all it’s worth. She ain’t slick she knows there won’t be another season of basketball wives so she isn’t talking. But I guarantee if bball wives was coming back she would have no problem talking. Ev is nothing but an opportunist.

  5. I’m so tired of Evelyn’s fake behind. She milked this situation for the last year and now she’s above it? Uh just cancel the show already. LHH is better anyway.

  6. I guess Evelyn was telling the truth when she said she was the star of the show and “carried the show on her own.” I never knew one person not showing up would result in the whole reunion being canceled.
