Method Man Defends Chris Brown & Says the Media is Making Him Look Like an Animal

Method Man has a respectable resume when it comes to Hip Hop and even though the emcee has been on somewhat of a hiatus musically, he’s still very much respected for his lyrical abilities. The Wu-Tang member has always been one to speak his mind whenever he feels it’s necessary, and in his recent interview with XXL Magazine, he made his feelings on the media and Chris Brown very clear.

The rapper feels like Chris gets unfairly targeted by the media ever since he assaulted Rihanna in 2009 and he even feels Chris’ recent alleged assault of a man outside of a hotel in DC wasn’t a big deal.  He also claims he would have punched the man too had he been in the same situation. He says:

“If you were in that same situation, how would you have handled it? Maybe you wouldn’t have handled it in the same way Chris did, but you would have been just as angry. Don’t f*ckin’ act like he’s some kind of animal and sh*t. That’s human nature. He got angry. He just took it a little bit further. But I know, I’m going off topic and sh*t. You just gotta understand, I’ve been doing this sh*t for a long time, and in the past few years, I’ve seen this change with the media, and it’s ugly as hell. I don’t believe in kissing an artist’s a*s. I believe in going right for the story, but when you’re trying to make a f*ckin’ story? How tacky is that? How tactless? And that’s what it feels like now.

“If he was a regular dude, and dude photobombed him like that, jumped up in his photo, it’s like, ‘What are you doing, mothaf*cker? I’m taking a picture here.’ I woulda whooped his a*s, too. But based off the fact that it’s Chris Brown, they’re making a big deal about it. I feel bad for the dude. And the bloggers, all these other sideline people with their opinions aren’t making it any better.”
