Kanye West is keeping busy with his very controversial interviews and Yeezus tour these days, but the music artist has made it clear on numerous occasions that he’s a perfectionist when it comes to his performances. And this couldn’t have been made clearer at his recent show in Tampa.

The rapper performed in front of a crowd of 7,408 in Tampa on Saturday, and he stopped the show abruptly when he realized the lighting and the mic wasn’t exactly how he wanted it to be. He was also furious that the LED screen above him was displaying images of him in color when it was supposed to be in black and white. After he gave the stage crew a piece of his mind for not setting the stage up to his standards, he then stormed off the stage in the middle of his performance.

The Tampa Tribune writes:

Just a few seconds into his third song, West demanded the music be stopped as he stormed off to the back of the stage. The lighting scheme wasn’t right, and those offending lights were to be turned off, “now,” he said, along with some harsher language for his technical crew that can’t be repeated here.

About a minute later it was fixed and West returned to deliver an inspired, crowd-thrilling “Send It Up” without missing a beat.

  1. LOL. This is what Kanye does. He did it during one of the shows I saw before he became a Kardashian. He got pissed that the lights weren’t how he wanted it and proceeded to curse the stage people out for like 5 minutes. It was really nuts.

    1. Oh wow. Did he walk off the stage then too? I get that he’s serious about his shows, but that’s a bit much in my opinion.

      1. No he didn’t walk off the stage but he went off and I felt so bad for his stage crew. All over some freaking stage lights. But I realized then that he was a queen and he’s gotten worse since then obviously.

    1. Exactly!
I went to this show in Tampa & I agree he can be a bit much alot of the times, but I found nothing wrong with him correcting his staff on the lights & sound. After he briefly addressed it everyone appreciated how much better it looked and sound. He also did a mini rant, but it was encouraging people to go after their dreams, not on some extreme vanity stuff. I have video of all these incidents on my instagram. They need to quit with this story.

  2. Why wouldn’t he check or have someone else check the stage and lighting before the performance started. One thing I learned from Beyonce’s documentary is that she is involved in every aspect of the show that’s why it’s always a hit. Kanye needs to take notes.

  3. What a damn diva. I would never go to one of his shows. Why should I support his music when all he does is talk trash. Queen K.
