Kanye West may have caught a lot of criticism over the music video for his single “Bound 2” (although he said recently that he meant for it to be a terrible music video) but it appears the rapper is having even more drama over the track.

According to the New York Post, Kanye is being sued by a boy band singer because he claims the rapper used his vocals without even getting permission or cutting him a check.

Ricky Spicer of 70s’ boy band The Ponderosa Twins Plus One says he had no idea his vocals were being used on the track until he heard it playing on the radio recently.

Allegedly Kanye ripped his vocals from the boy band’s track entitled “Bound.” Spicer sings the lead vocals on the track, and he says Kanye used the song for his chorus.

Spicer is suing Kanye and Def Jam. In the suit, he’s also demanding that the label stops using his song and he wants to be paid an unspecified amount of money.

Kanye’s camp hasn’t made any statements on the lawsuit as of yet.

  1. Kanye is the king of sampling. But why didn’t he at least get the sample clear beforehand? That’s just lazy.

    1. Very lazy. Oh well. Maybe someone on his team was supposed to handle it and dropped the ball. Happens all the time.

  2. Every time Bound 2 comes on the radio and I rush to change the station. The song sucks and the video made it even more terrible.

  3. SMH you can’t just steal pieces of someone’s song, he didn’t even bother changing the song name or anything lol
