When Mama Joyce made it clear on past episodes of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” that she is not a fan of her daughter Kandi Burruss’ fiancé Todd Tucker because she thinks he’s just after her money, many of her critics assumed she’s only protesting the marriage because she wants her daughter’s money all to herself. But in a recent interview, Mama Joyce claims she’s not living off Kandi’s money and her real issue with Todd stems from his background. She even says she began to question things after he took a break from working.
She tells Madame Noire:
“I think it was after he stopped working. After he finished the Kim and Kroy wedding special. Most producers go on to other jobs and he took like two months, two and a half months off. And I was a little leery about that. But he said he had saved up his money and decided to take some time off. And I didn’t like that.”
On feeling like Todd will replace her or even cut off her access to Kandi’s money, she says:
“Oh no. Nobody can replace a mother not a real mother. And let’s make one thing clear, I have my own money. Kandi does not take care of me. I live in the same house that I live in since months before Kandi was born. Kandi has offered to buy me a house before and I wanted her to save her money. That has been my primary goal to help her to accumulate her wealth. Now, she bought me a car in 2000 and she bought me a car this year after I had already bought myself a Lexus. I have rental property and I’m retired. I have a good income coming in. Now, Kandi gives to me. She’s very generous. Because I was a very good mother. She had nothing but the best growing up. And I’m not worried about no man taking my place because can’t no man take a good mother’s place. I just want the best for her and Riley.”
Mama Joyce also says she just wants people to do their research on Todd before they point fingers at her:
“I want people to look into his [Todd’s] background.”
As far as the wedding is concerned, Mama Joyce says she will be in attendance if that’s what Kandi wants. However, Kandi still hasn’t set a date because she’s drained from all the drama surrounding her big day.
People think she’s only worried about getting cut off from Kandi’s money because that’s all she seems to be worried about.
And it’s all she talks about. LOL.
I bet if Kandi cut that old bird’s allowance, she’d straighten up real quick and sit down somewhere. LOL
Whatever. If she has her own money like she says, she needs to let Kandi worry about her own bank account.
I hope she is being paid handsomely to act like a fool by Bravo…
What dirty past? As nosey as the media is, if he had a dirty past it would have been plastered all over the blogs by now. Joyce needs to have a seat and let her daughter make her own choices, even if she doesn’t agree with them.
ATTENTION TODD: What you put up with is what you end up with.
I feel like we have seen a little too much from Joyce this season. She must be trying to secure her own reality show. lol
Todd is not going to be marry Kandi. Watch.
No he’s not cause Kandi does not want to get married. To a certain degree I think Kandi allows her mother to behave that way. She could put an end to it if she really wanted to. Kandi always acts like she’s an air head and can’t hear her mother arguing with people in the next room. Then she walks out all nonchalantly like she expects her mother to act that way.
Why can’t she just let this go? He agreed to sign a prenup. Plus he had a job before he even starting dating Kandi. It’s like Joyce won’t be happy until Kandi dates someone in the industry who is only going to cheat on her and get his side chick knocked up a la Dwyane Wade and Ludacris.
Cosign! Men with money are usually messy. She is out of her mind if she thinks the goodness of a man is measured by how much money he makes.
And she’s still on this…sigh…
Ugh so Joyce isn’t going to talk about the fact that people in ATL say they have seen her man drive her car around the city like it’s his own? She’s so worried about Kandi getting played by Todd but she can’t notice she’s actually the one getting played herself.

She says she has been living in the same house since Kandi since before Kandi was born..was It jus me or did i hear Kandi say a few times she gave her mama her old house? All I know is she is going to have to make a decision because it has gotten way too messy than it needs to be.
Ummm mama joyce is not telling the truth about having her own,Kandi has
said on more than one occasion that she gave mama her old house. that’s besides the point yes she is kandi’s mother and should be respected, but mama joyce doesn’t have any respect for her daughter here this woman is a music producer, grammy winner reality tv personality and her mother treats her like she is an IDIOT. Mama
joyce has got to back down and get her own man and her own life Kandi has got to be able to be an adult, and make her own mistakes DAMN!!!!!
Kandi is business savvy, but when it comes to her overall essence and relationships with men, she is quite the immature one. her communication skills and the ability to draw upon her own instincts, have been stunted by her mother’s overbearing influence.

Kandi, y do you let your mom interfer in your relationships u said urself that when she was ur age she was married 3 times, and her mom didn’t interferr in her relationships,that should tell you something. I know you love and respect your mom but she needs to get with the program or be on the outside looking in. The best advise I heard this season came from your daughter Riley. Tell your mom to stay out your business!!!!!
