Beyonce is sticking to her “feminist” agenda, and taking time from her super successful Mrs. Carter World Tour to do a few PSA’s to encourage young girls to be leaders for the #BanBossy Movement via Girls Scouts of the USA, Lifetime Television and LeanIn.org.
The singer joins the ranks of actress Jennifer Garner, Condoleezza Rice and others to encourage society to stop calling young ladies “bossy” for being leaders because the term is such a negative connotation and discourages young girls from taking more leadership roles.
In the PSA, Beyonce says:
“I’m not bossy, I’m the boss.”
Two snaps.
Check out the video below:
I love this. I’m glad they are trying to encourage girls to be leaders and live life on their own terms. No longer do we have to be housewives and depend on men if we don’t want to. It’s all about having choices.
Love it.
Off topic, I kind of wish Bey would go back to the dark hair. She just looks better (gorgeous) when her hair is dark.
“I’m not bossy, I’m the boss.” Any questions? 🙂
Little girls aren’t the only ones being called bossy and b-tchy for being leaders. I deal with it now in my career. It’s cool when a man is in charge, but it’s a problem when a woman is. Smh.
I love it! This is a great campaign. I really hate that if a woman is assertive she is labeled bossy or even called a b-tch.
I love the message! Kudos to Bey and everyone else for taking their time to put together this PSA.
They can call me whatever they want to as long as I’m getting that paper! LMAO!
