If you’ve been wondering what “Moesha” and “The Parkers” star Countess Vaughn has been up to lately, perhaps you’ll be interested to know she’s been off the scene for a while because she’s been dealing with some scary health scares due to her love for lace front wigs.

Countess made a recent appearance on “The Doctors” and the actress opened up about her scary moment with wigs. Apparently she had no idea that the glue she used to apply the lace fronts was harming her body.

According to Countess, she noticed something was wrong when she began to leak an oozy type of fluid behind her ears:

“In 2004, my hairstylist introduced to lace-front wigs and I fell in love with them, immediately. You have a full-hair line; I was wearing them 24/7. Five years later the drama came in. The red flag was the oozing from my ears, forehead, the whole nape around my head. The puss had a horrible smell and it was painful. I let it go by for six months. What I did not realize, I had a bad reaction to the glue I used to apply the wig. My hair started to fall out.”

Scary. Check out the video below:

  1. I think a lot of people don’t understand wigs are not meant for everyday use. You still have to take care of your real hair and when you don’t, you run into all kinds of issues. Now common sense should have told her it’s not good to deal with glue everyday.

  2. I’m not surprised. This is what happens when you deal with low self esteem. I can see wearing a wig every now and then, but every day is not good. Not only is the glue bad for you, but you’re neglecting your real hair. I wish Countess would have invested as much time and money as she did in the wigs on her real hair. Imagine how long and healthy it would be by now if she did.

  3. Man between this, the relaxers and fibroid debate, I’m just glad I’ve decided to go natural. It’s not easy trying to learn how to deal with my God given texture, but it’s so worth it.

  4. No offense to countess Vaughan as much as I love the hairstyle she be wearning on the parkers and moesha even tho dere wigs she should of had a sew in instead of having to put more glue onto the wig and having her hair to fall out I don’t deal with lace front wigs
