What happened between Mariah and Quad? Season one of “Married to Medicine,” Mariah Huq and Quad Webb-Lunceford were thick as thieves. But now the former besties can’t even be in the same room with each other longer than thirty seconds without everyone feeling awkward.

Many wondered what caused the friendship to end in such a big way and now Mariah tells The Jasmine Brand that Quad distanced herself because she couldn’t take viewers labeling her as Mariah’s shadow.

Mariah says:

“I think what’s happened is fame. I think TV tears people apart. What role I had to play in that, I’m learning as you guys learn. I didn’t know things were as bad as they are. I think Quad felt a certain way about first season, she did express that to me. She felt like they made her look like my do-girl or my puppet and she felt like she was a little bit subservient and she didn’t like that. Instead of realizing that I didn’t control that, I feel as though she took it out on me…we bumped heads on that. So she started treating me a certain way and I made the comment to her then she said something about…I was mad because she was more famous then me. I said that’s absurd, I’m the one that made you famous and that’s how I felt. I felt like I gave her the platform, I’m not saying that I gave her the personality or anything like that but I just felt like it was absurd to turn the tables on me and treat me like a fan when I’ve always been a friend. I didn’t bring her up under me, I didn’t bring her behind me, I brought her beside me and I think I gotta get some credit for that.”

As for Quad, she is more upset about the fact that Mariah keeps telling people that she “made” Quad.

  1. Mariah didn’t make anyone. And she stole all her swag from gay men! She and Tamar are so annoying.

  2. I finally watched all of season one and I actually liked their friendship. But reality tv does get in between friends all the time. And I can’t say I’m surprised they fell out.
