Pebbles Reid was furious about how she was depicted in the TLC biopic that aired on VH1 last year, and she vowed that she would be suing Viacom for signing off on a film that allegedly defamed her.

Now it’s been confirmed that Pebbles has filed a lawsuit against Viacom. Page Six reports:

Perri “Pebbles” Reid — former manager of the girl group TLC — is suing Viacom for $40 million over the movie “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.”

Reid claims in Atlanta federal court that the 2013 VH1 movie portrays her “as a conniving and dishonest business woman who hoodwinked three innocent girls and exploited their talent for her own personal gain.”

An R&B singer who has herself sold over 4 million records, Reid says in the suit that Viacom “ignored fundamental canons of journalistic and literary conduct by publishing false and defamatory accusations with actual malice.”

The suit filed late Friday states that, contrary to what VH1 viewers saw, Reid never controlled TLC’s lawyers or accountants, never withheld contract terms from TLC and always paid the group what they were owed.

  1. Ok but in TLC’s mind Pebbles did them dirty. That’s their opinion and that’s how they feel. Suing them or VH1 won’t change how they analyzed the situation.

  2. 40 million? She’ll be lucky is she even sees $100,000. No one was even thinking about Pebbles before the movie and she isn’t even in the music business anymore. Isn’t she a pastor? LOL at her suing for $40 million like this movie messed up her music career.

  3. The whole TLC vs. Pebbles drama is kind of sketchy. There’s a Wendy Williams interview from 2001 on youtube where Left Eye stated that she had no issues with Pebbles and that she was not the one to blame for their unearned finances. If she was alive I wonder what direction this battle go in. #RIPLISA

    1. The saga continues. It’s so sad that she tried to put a damper on their return this year by bringing unnecessary drama. Chilli and T-Boz are so beautiful and can still rock the stage. The deserve to work like veryone else. Pebbles is a thorn in the side of all of them. She is sad because she’s not onstage as an r&b singer, that she’s gotten older and fat, and that she hasn’t enjoyed a fan base who love her. It seems more important to have a lil money and be loved than to have a lot of money and have the world hate you.

  4. She’s like the lover who stalks you and won’t let go. How embarrassing this is for those she’s known and worked with in the past such as LaFace.
This is desperation at it’s finest and it looks like it’s more about needing money and attention. I suggest that Pebbles seek guidance and support by way of a therapist to overcome her fears.
