Another day, more skin lightening accusations. Many of today’s biggest black female celebrities are targeted for vicious skin lightening rumors, especially if they were born with a lighter skin tone.
Kenyan model and socialite Vera Sidika is currently under fire for lightening her skin, so she’s decided to throw Rihanna and Nicki Minaj under a bus to save herself.
In an interview with #TheTrend, she says people shouldn’t be upset she decided to lighten her skin, especially since Nicki Minaj and Rihanna have done the same thing:
“Looking good is my business. My body is my business, nobody else’s but mine. Nicki Minaj and Rihanna did it. You just have to do it the right way.”
We’re assuming Vera isn’t hip to Rihanna and Nicki Minaj’s skills in getting folks together on Twitter. Regardless, the model reportedly spent a whooping $170,000 for a lighter complexion.

People are so stupid. I think self hate eats up at people’s brains. Rihanna has not lightened her skin. She’s always been a light bright and in the beginning, she used a bronzer to appeal to the urban demographic, similar to what Beyonce did earlier in her career.

I get so annoyed with people who really believe that all the black celebs bleach. It’s obvious that a lot of people use bronzers and images are digitally altered lighter to appeal to the crossover demographic. Goodness.
She might have a case for Nicki but I doubt Rihanna bleached her skin she has been light skin. But it isn’t about them it is about her and her self hate.

Nicki and Rihanna should not have even came up in the interview. This is about her being completely weak and pathetic enough to lighten her skin because she hated herself and most likely still does. She needs help.

Rihanna is a light-skinned Bajan who gets darker in the summer, and lighter in the winter – simple as that. And Nicki Manaj is a Trini with a father who’s part Indian. This struggle Kim K-clone needs to go ask for her color back, and sit her behind down under a bush or something.
