Rapper Gucci Mane has been locked up for the last several months for probation violation, but now it appears he will have to stay behind bars a lot longer than he planned.

According to the AJC, Gucci has been sentenced to 39 months:

A federal judge sentenced Atlanta rapper Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, to 39 months in prison and said he may have to limit his traveling to perform for three years after he serves his sentence on a firearms charge.

Davis pleaded guilty in May to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The 39-month prison sentence was part of the binding agreement he reached with prosecutors. Davis has already spent 11 months in custody, which leaves him with 28 months remaining on his sentence. Had he gone to trial, Mane could have been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.

Davis’ lawyers asked U.S. District Judge Steve Jones on Wednesday to recommend that the Bureau of Prisons put the rapper in a drug program and to house him in a facility on the West Coast, away from negative influences he has in Atlanta.

  1. Gucci is stupid. He had buzz around his music but couldn’t get it together and stay out of trouble. His career is over.

  2. I don’t feel sorry for him. He shouldn’t have gone around pulling guns out on people and attacking people in the military.

  3. But this sentence “Had he gone to trial, Mane could have been sentenced to up to 10 years in prison.” cracked me UP!!!!! LMBO these folks referenced the latter part of his stage name as if it were his last name. I’m rolling. Totally read that in my most ratchet Memphis voice.

Anyway, I’ve got a feeling that this is nothing to Gucci. He’ll get out and hop back in the same cycle.

  4. So, the West Coast won’t have bad influences too? Please, this fool will be in jail so fast the ink’ll still be wet on his discharge papers when he does get out.
