Nick Cannon’s separation from Mariah Carey was a shocker for many, but as the couple goes through their impending divorce, some wondered how it would affect Nick’s role on BET’s “Real Husbands of Hollywood.”
Interestingly enough, BET head honchos claim the divorce will be a hot topic on the new season, and Nick is totally okay with laughing at the demise of his marriage.
The New York Daily News writes:
Speaking at the launch of the show’s third series at the Paley Center in Hollywood, BET Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Debra Lee dropped the D-word, then revealed that Cannon will make fun of his split with Carey on camera, though that doesn’t mean it’s a laughing matter.
“Divorce is hard,” Lee said. “But he keeps saying they have a great relationship, and I hope they will be okay.”
Cannon’s castmates, including his close pal Kevin Hart, are gunning to use the split as a plotline in the next season, Lee says. But they’ll be funny rather than cruel, Lee said.
“Everyone knows it is scripted. It is difficult, but I am sure they draw a line at a certain point,” she said.
I think this is one of the main reasons his marriage is over. He will say and do anything for a laugh, even at the cost of his marriage.

Nick needs to be very careful. Mariah has more connections than him, so if this gets messy he will be the one who will lose.
I fully expected them to go in about this.

He really doesn’t seem to care that he’s divorcing.
This is why I was never happy about Mariah being with Nick.
Ratings are the motive.
Isn’t Mariah supposed to make a cameo too? I thought I read that somewhere.
