Actor Jamie Foxx and talented child actress Quvenzhane Wallis are in full press mode to promote their upcoming film “Annie,” so they grace the December issue of ESSENCE.
In the issue, Jamie talks about how important he feels it was for Quvenzhane to land the starring role.
Jamie says:
“I don’t think we could have done this movie unless Quvenzhané came along. It’s sort of like she’s tailor-made for the role in a sense. I would challenge you to find a girl who personifies ‘Annie’ better than Quvenzhané does.”

The December issue of ESSENCE hits newsstands Novemeber 7 and “Annie” hits theaters nationwide on December 19.
In more magazine cover news, Nicki Minaj made headlines recently for going ballistic on her boo Safaree Samuels with the help of a baseball bat, but the female emcee is nabbing magazine covers as she promotes her upcoming studio album, “The Pinkprint.”
Nicki covers V Magazine and she even explains why feels she has to be raw on every track in the winter issue of the fashion magazine:
“I ALWAYS PUSH THE ENVELOPE, BECAUSE I’M NICKI MINAJ. I HAVE TO. NO MATTER WHO I’M ON A SONG WITH, I FEEL LIKE I HAVE TO SAY AT LEAST ONE THING THAT NO ONE ELSE IS WILLING TO SAY. WHETHER IT’S MADONNA, BRITNEY, OR BEYONCE, THEY ALWAYS TELL ME, ‘YES. BE YOURSELF. TALK YOUR SH*T.”

Definitely taking the kiddos to see Annie.
Nicki looks good.
Really excited to see this version of Annie, but I hope Jamie and especially Quvenzhane are prepared for the negativity too, as some in the white media have been very vocal in their opposition to this movie being made. Plus, they seemed especially mean to Quvanzhane, when she was nominated for her Oscar. I don’t think that meanest is going to change now she’s playing their beloved Annie!
This.
Very nice magazine covers.
Yasss all around.
Can’t wait too see Annie. And I hope Nicki keeps the black hair. It looks so good on her.
Awwwww I can’t wait to take my baby sis to go see “Annie” when it comes out. My grams took me to see the play I enjoyed myself. But I am excited by this version of Annie and sharing that experience with my baby sis so that she can see little black girls like her acting
