Ashanti and Nelly’s on and off relationship lasted for years, but things eventually came to an end thanks to alleged cheating on Nelly’s end.
Nelly has since moved on to Floyd Mayweather’s ex Shantel Jackson, but Nelly admitted months ago one of the things he disliked most about his relationship with Ashanti is that she wanted to keep it private from the public.
In a recent interview with Meredith Vieira, Ashanti says she feels like the rapper betrayed her:
“I think sometimes when people have their own insecurities it allows them to act out of character. I’ve been betrayed. Again, you just have to grow, you have to grow up and accept responsibilities for the things that you do. I’m not a big fan of people being cowards. I think it’s really important to know yourself and understand what you want and get it. I’m in a different place right now.”
Girl move on. Please.
Thank you. He’s had like 3 girlfriends since her. I don’t know why she still talks about him in her interviews anymore. And didn’t she say not too long ago she would take him back again possibly? She’s clearly not over him.
Oh goodness. She’s still on this. I have to agree with Nelly too. It was so weird that that whole time they were together (10 years I think), they never claimed each other. Even Jay-Z and Beyonce eventually had to start claiming each other. Ashanti was too extreme for no reason.
He probably did cheat. And I understand it hurts. But Nelly has moved on with his life and she needs to do the same.
Ashanti please give it a rest I mean damn nobody cares.

I wonder what were her reasons for wanting their relationship kept unknown.
This is what happens when you hang on too long to someone you’re not meant to be with. And he honestly seems happier with Shantel.
i’m embarrassed for her because he has moved on with his life and she seems to be refusing to do the same.
No, she betrayed herself. Nelly was never good enough for her, but she allowed her low self esteem to drive her to keep dealing with him for way too long. For over a decade, she has nothing to show for that “relationship” except being cheated on, disrespected, embarrassed and no ring (well it’s not like she should have married him anyway TBH). He was a waste of time, and here she is yet again thinking and talking about him.
She’s so pretty but so naive. She put up with Nelly for way too long. Oh well. I hope she learned from it.
