The other day Wale told his fans on Twitter that he feels he doesn’t get as much praise as Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole because the media doesn’t like him as a result of his behavior on his social media accounts, but the good news is he can feel good about the album sales of his latest album, “The Album About Nothing.”

According to the projections, the rapper will sell at least 100,000 copies the first week.

Rap-Up writes:

Wale rules the charts this week. The D.C. rapper debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with The Album About Nothing.

The Seinfeld-inspired set sold 100,000 equivalent album units in its first week and also enters atop the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It marks his second chart-topper following 2013’s The Gifted (158,000).

Ludacris wasn’t so lucky though. His new album, “Ludaversal,” is only expected to sell around 73,000 copies.

  1. Congrats Wale. A lot of people keep saying his album is better than Kendrick’s album. I haven’t heard Wale’s album but I have heard some of Kendrick’s album and I wasn’t feeling it.

  2. Strong numbers. I hope he still works on himself as an artist so he can eventually get the recognition he deserves.
