Taraji P. Henson Defends Chris Brown’s ‘White Hot Holidays’ Performance

According to Deadline, “White Hot Holidays,” was a hit ratings wise.

Deadline writes:

One week after the Lee Daniels-Danny Strong blockbuster had its winter finale, Empire addicts got some relief last night with Taraji And Terrence’s White Hot Holidays (1.5/5). While obviously nowhere near the ratings highs of the hip-hop drama, the hourlong special saw not just the Empire leads but onscreen sons Bryshere Y. Gray and Jussie Smollett as well as Mary J. Blige, John Legend and Patti LaBelle take the stage to belt out those Christmas tunes. All of which led to a solid result for the special produced by Casey Patterson Entertainment and Don Mischer Productions. With 5.08 million viewers, White Hot Holidays did fine for anything on broadcast, be it a holiday special or not.

However, a lot of people took to social media to slam Chris Brown’s performance. Some complained he sounded off-key and his voice wasn’t up to par.

Taraji defended Chris on her Twitter account:

As for Chris, he took it all in stride. He remained positive about the performance on his Twitter account and thanked FOX for the opportunity.

  1. This is why the MJ comparisons will never stick. Chris is a great dancer but he’s not a top notch performer because he doesn’t want to give up bad habits like smoking to preserve his vocals. You can’t become the GOAT if you aren’t willing to make sacrifices.

  2. I think Chris said he was sick but how many times has he been sick during a performance this year alone? He needs to stop smoking and work on his endurance.

  3. So uh. Am I the only one that’s seeing poor lip synching? I just wanna make sure I’m not seeing things, cause that 1st song definitely appeared to be as such.
