Entertainment Tonight caught up with Jada Pinkett-Smith recently, and she responded to Chris Rock.
However, she chose to take the high road:
“Hey look it comes with the territory, we gotta keep it moving,” the 44-year-old Gotham star told photographers as she walked through Los Angeles International Airport on Saturday. “We got a lot of stuff we gotta handle, a lot of stuff going on in our world right now. We gotta keep it moving.”
At the ceremony on Feb. 28, Rock skewered the actress, joking, “Jada said she’s not coming. I was like, ‘Isn’t she on a TV show?’ Jada’s gonna boycott the Oscars? Jada boycotting the Oscars is like me boycotting Rihanna’s panties. I wasn’t invited!”
She shouldn’t have said anything at all. Chris isn’t worth a response. I lost what little respect I had for him.
I think she handled it well.
I just hate how he tried to say Jada is irrelevant. Really? She’s one of the few black actresses who has been able to get work consistently for the last 20 years. Meanwhile he’s been reduced to tap dancing for the Academy Awards and sh-tty documentaries on black women and their hair choices.
Thank. She’s irrelevant but she’s the one who got the boycott rolling and had every media outlet out there running with it. For him to try to downplay her accomplishments like she’s wasn’t a working actress before Will is disrespectful.
Exactly.
Truth.
I wish she would have cussed his corny a-s out, but that ain’t her style.
Classy, as always. Love Jada.
Great response.
Grown woman sh-t.
Sometimes you just have to take the high road!!!
