Ameriie (formerly Amerie) has been away from the forefront of the music scene after the success of her smash hit “One Thing,” and people often wonder if she could have been a much bigger artist.
She stopped by to chat it up with the Breakfast Club crew recently and she opens up about her hiatus and she even gave her thoughts on the Keri Hilson and Beyonce situation.

Oh I thought LL Cool J got her blackballed???
Explain??
Yeah I’ve never heard this and am curious.
This sounds great in theory but it’s not true. Keri turned a lot of people off because she was new and came for two singers who had already established themselves for no reason but to be petty. So it just seemed like she had a nasty attitude and not everyone wants to support people with personalities they aren’t fond of. And why did they bring up R Kelly? He can’t sell albums anymore either. We live in a stan culture now. If people don’t like you or you came for their fave, they will not support you period. It may seem childish but people can do what they want with their money. The best way to avoid the trouble is keeping it cute and not coming for anyone.
I don’t even think the Beyhive ruined Keri. People stopped feeling her when she got real raunchy all of a sudden. It’s a risk artists taken when they decide to try something new. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. And now she’s proven she’s really ignorant too. Let’s not forget her Rachel Dolezal tweets. She’s just not likable imo.
Why the f-ck are they bringing up Beyonce, the Hive and Keri in this interview though? I mean Charlamagne brought up Bey like 25 times. That’s disrespectful as f-ck to another artist.
I watched this earlier and I have to say she’s really cool. I also love how she didn’t take the bait and shade Beyonce. You know that’s what they wanted.
When you go after people who have done nothing to you out of jealousy, don’t be surprised if karma knocks you off your feet.
LOL. They trolled her so hard.
Interesting interview.
I love her music and personality.
