According to TMZ, production hasn’t been able to get NeNe to film due to her intense schedule and they are unsure if she will have time to film at all for season nine:
TMZ has learned they’ve been shooting for weeks now, and NeNe is nowhere in sight.
It seemed like she was possibly coming back to the main cast after being named a guest last season. She’s been busy with a HSN clothing line, one woman tour, new game show and a stint on “Fashion Police.”
Our ‘RHOA’ sources tell us producers have added at least one new cast member, and NeNe — the only remaining OG ATL housewife — doesn’t look to be part of plans going forward.
We’re told “guest appearances” are always a possibility, but as of now producers aren’t counting on having NeNe.
NeNe took to Twitter to set the record straight though:

I think she will come back as a friend of the show again.
I think Nene will come around when she wants and Bravo will happily have her.
I honestly don’t think Nene will pass up a check. She will film when she gets some time.
I don’t think Nene will ever be on RHOA like she was before she left. I think she will just pop in and out and honestly her last season being a main housewife she was barely even on there. The fact that Bravo knows they need Nene in some sort of fashion proves she makes the show and also proves that those dry storylines from half the cast ain’t carrying the show like some believed bloop!
She needs to stay away. She’s negative and exhausting.

I would love for her to have a peach again but last season worked too. She just brings something to the show the other girls don’t.
Yes, shade and drama! I can’t say I’m not entertained though.
