“Empire” was easily the most watched show on Wednesday night, however, publications are claiming the premiere took a huge hit from last season’s opener.
Variety writes:
“Empire” was the night’s top show, drawing a 4.1 in the demo and 10.8 million total viewers, but was down significantly from last fall’s season-two debut (6.7, 16.2 million). The series premiere of “Lethal Weapon” at 8 p.m. drew a 2.2 and 7.8 million viewers, down 8% in the demo, but up 4% in total viewers from the series premiere of “Rosewood” last fall in the same time period.
The good news for the drama is the premiere’s ratings were in line with season two’s finale.
I knew it was Rhonda who died. Good episode.
It was so obvious from the previews.
I think the writing may be much better this season or at least more entertaining than it was last season. I enjoyed the premiere.
The writing still leaves much to be desired. I’ll still watch because I see potential, something I didn’t see last season.
Rhonda dying was too obvious.
I liked it. And I hope the episodes keep getting better.
I just didn’t see Boo Boo Kitty being kicked off so early, so Rhonda wasn’t a shocker. I feel good about the season so I hope I won’t be let down again.
Looks like they are maintaining the same numbers from last season. I think that’s not bad.
