TV News: ‘Atlanta’ Season Two Delayed Until 2018 + Queen Latifah is Trying to Bring Back ‘Living Single’

According to reports, Donald Glover’s schedule has been so busy lately that he won’t be able to film new episodes of “Atlanta” until next year, therefore the show’s second season has been pushed back to 2018.

Despite the delay, the good news is Donald is getting even more opportunities to create more great content.

Variety writes:

Donald Glover, the auteur behind FX’s red-hot series “Atlanta,” has set an exclusive overall deal with FX Productions.

The pact calls for Glover to develop new projects for FX Networks’ outlets as well as other networks and streaming services. He will remain the writer, director, star and exec producer of “Atlanta,” which on Sunday won the Golden Globe for best comedy series and the comedy actor nod for Glover. “Atlanta” will return for a second season in 2018 due to Glover’s production schedule.

“Atlanta,” a deeply personal look at African-American life in Georgia’s urban center, has been the talk of the creative community since its Sept. 6 debut. The series was quickly renewed for a second season. On Wednesday, Glover added a Directors Guild Award nomination to the Writers Guild Award mention the show picked up last month.

Donald’s schedule is crazy right now because he will be in Disney’s upcoming “Star Wars” film based on Han Solo.

In more television news, Queen Latifah stopped by “Watch What Happens Live” recently and she revealed that she’s working with the rest of the original cast of “Living Single” to bring the show back.

  1. Ugh I hate that Atlanta isn’t coming back until next year. And I don’t think Living Single needs to come back. From what I’m seeing, when they bring shows back they manage to ruin what made the original great.
