Remy Ma Vs. Nicki Minaj: Listen to the Diss Tracks (UPDATE)

Remy Ma’s first album, since her release from prison, with Fat Joe did not burn up the charts. Despite her hit single with Fat Joe and French Montana being certified Platinum, the Album “Plata O Plomo” is not having the same success.

According to That Grape Juice:

Powered by the Platinum certified ‘All The Way Up,’ Remy Ma and Fat Joe’s joint effort ‘Plata O Plomo’ debuts disappointingly at #44 on the SPS count. Its combined numbers on that chart came in at 11,158. As for the project’s pure sales debut, that figure sat at a shocking 7,978. Although, this was enough to lift its placing on sales-only chart to #25.

A positive item on this is the album was released independently. So both of them will have more money on this release than if was released by a major label.

Interestingly enough, Nicki Minaj may have taken shots at Remy’s album sales on Gucci Mane’s new song “Make Love.”

On the track, Nicki spits a few bars aimed towards a nameless female rapper. “You see silly rabbit, to be the queen of rap / you got to sell records, you got to get plaques/ ‘s’ plural, like the ‘S’ on my chest / now sit your dumb a** down, you got a ‘F’ on ya test,” she asserts

Interestingly enough, shortly after the track was released and people began to speculate about the diss and react to the record sales, Remy posted this tweet:

Remy Ma then echoed the Jay-Z/Nas Beef and decided to Ether Nicki Minaj with “ShETHER.”

The scathing track, which is a play on Nas’ “Ether” diss towards Jay Z, pulls no punches and even starts with a clip of Nicki Minaj screaming “Free Remy.” From there, the shots are plenty.

I told you I wasn’t talking about your dumb a**,” she raps. “It look stupid, you literally got a dumb a**…Let’s be honest, you stole that line about bitches being your sons / How you take my ’09 jail tweet and run / Talking about, bringing knives to a fight with guns / When the only shot you ever took was in your buns.”

The personals continue, involving Nicki’s ex, Meek Mill. “I saw Meek at All-Star,” she raps. “He told me your a** dropped / He couldn’t f*** you for three months because your ass dropped / Now, I don’t think you understand how bad her a** got / The implants that she had put in her a** popped.”

“ShETHER” is pretty brutal. In the track, Remy calls out the other artists Nicki allegedly slept with and took shots at her financial situation. Remy even accused her of using ghostwriters and brought up her brother’s child molestation case.

As for now, Nicki only responded on social media:

??‍♀️ yikes.

UPDATE: Now Nicki and Trey Songz appear to be having some issues. In “ShETHER,” Remy accused Nicki of sleeping with Trey Songz.

    1. I’m just shaking my head. What she said about album sales on Gucci’s song wasn’t even about Remy. It was for Azealia Banks. Smh.

  1. This was embarassing. Nicki better come back hard. And mentioning Beyonce won’t help her. Remy was on the Formation World Tour.

  2. Nicki isn’t being strategic. By tweeting Trey and bringing up Bey, she looks foolish. Now it looks like she lost. And lost bad.

  3. Nicki wasn’t even rapping about Remy she was coming for Azealia. But now she will respond and everyone doubting her is going to feel stupid when it drops. Never underestimate Nicki.

  4. Nicki is trying to pull a Drake but failing. Drake’s first go at Meek was weak, but he let his stans defend him online so he could look like he had the upper hand. Then he went back to the studio and made a better track. Notice he wasn’t on Twitter going back and forth with anyone either. You automatically lose when you get in your feelings and tweet something you can’t take back. Tweeting Trey like this was a bad move. Especially since she’s taking her anger out on him and not even directly responding to Remy.

  5. Nicki really needs to put her emotions in check and just go back to the studio. Trey isn’t the one who just embarrassed her on a diss track. He’s not the person she should be mad at.

  6. Not a Nicki stan but Remy’s delivery/flow wasn’t all that great. If you’re going to use Ether as a foundation, you need to be tight.

  7. Remy’s track sounded rush. It’s not her best at all. Her verses sounded off and she struggled to stay on beat. Can she rap better than Nicki? Yes. But this was weak considering what she’s capable of.

  8. Much respect to Remy for calling Nicki out for being a caricature who encouraged beautiful black women to get surgery they didn’t need to look like plastic blowup dolls.

    1. Maybe if Remy hadn’t had a boob job herself, and a possible tummy tuck and lipo I’d be applauding your comment right now. But her body is just as fake as Nicki’s.

  9. I’m just not here for this. Back in the day, we had multiple female rappers and they collaborated and made classics together. This whole it can only be one mentality with black women in the music industry doesn’t sit well with me. In the end it hurts up. So Nicki needs to stop being petty and be ok with other women shining.
