The first season of “Insecure” premiered to a windfall of positive reviews.
For eight weeks in 2016, fans followed Issa and Molly as they went through a variety of relationship issues.
Molly struggled in balancing a successful career as a lawyer with finding a healthy relationship. However, oftentimes, she found herself wondering if she needed to settle or keep her standards extremely high. In the end, when even her own girlfriends pointed out that she sometimes moves way too fast with men and can come off as really needed, it was too late to make things right with Jared, a guy she really liked but had a past with a man that Molly wasn’t comfortable with.
Many were also left with questions about Issa and Lawrence’s breakup. The couple struggled earlier in the season because Lawrence didn’t have a job and his dreams as an entrepreneur weren’t quite working out.
When he finally took Issa’s advice and got a really good job and decided to work on his business on the side, he learned she slept with her high school sweetheart behind his back.
Feeling betrayed, Lawrence left Issa and found new footing through a fling.
Fans will find out the future of all their favorites in the show’s new season.
Although it was rumored season two could be pushed back to 2018, Issa confirmed that the show will be back in July:
