Black Ink Crew Recap: Dutchess Shuts Down Ceaser + Teddy Drops the Ball, Again

Dutchess gets some bad news.

The group heads to Puerto Rico, with the exceptions of Melody and Richard/Nikki (all three will arrive later) and they still have to prove that the 113th shop needs to be reopened.

Meanwhile, Dutchess learns that Cease and the group are in Puerto Rico to go to the same convention she booked two months ago.

Tatu Baby shows up to Puerto Rico.

The rest of the group meets Tatu and they are impressed that she has any interest in Cease. They seem to feel she’s an upgrade from Dutchess.

“I’m proud of Cease for moving on and moving up.” – Sky

Melody gets turned down by her baby daddy.

Melody and her child’s father have a conversation about marriage and he reveals that he’s against marriage. He thinks marriage makes people miserable and it’s just a piece of paper anyway. This upsets Melody.

The group finds out Dutchess will be at the convention.

Via social media, Teddy finds a flyer that confirms Dutchess will be making an appearance at the tattoo convention. Cease says he will be cordial, while Donna seems to think Dutchess will be mad when she sees him with Tatu Baby.

But Dutchess feels like having her own shop gave her back her sense of independence and that’s the real reason she feels like her relationship with Cease ended because he just wasn’t being supportive.

“I’ll be damned if I tuck my tail in like a coward when I’m actually out here making boss moves.” – Dutchess

Melody’s baby daddy wants to compromise.

Although he’s not sold on marriage, he suggest that he and Melody have a commitment ceremony in Puerto Rico.

“I don’t care about the legal aspect of marriage. That means nothing to me. I just want more because we have a kid.” – Melody

Melody is happy with his suggestion.

The group heads to the convention and of course Cease ends up disappointed.

Once they get inside the convention, the people handling check in tell Cease that they don’t have a booth. Turns out Teddy never turned in the application.

“Man that can’t be right bro. I filled that stuff out myself.” – Teddy

It is then revealed that Teddy never submitted the application because he thought Kitt would mail it in with the check. That surprises her because she doesn’t even work for 113th.

“I’ve been let down by this crew before but never on this level.” – Cease

Cease runs into Dutchess with Tatu Baby.

Dutchess has a photo shoot with a major tattoo publication and she’s also been asked to do a live stream. Amid doing the stream, Cease runs into her with Tatu.

“Seeing Dutchess brings out all kind of emotions. I can’t believe she gave up five years over a lie.” – Cease

Cease approaches her and asks if they can talk.

“We need to have another argument on the street? I’m working right now.” – Dutchess to Cease

After being dismissed, Cease gets upset and tells her that he will wait until she’s done working. But Dutchess tells them that they should leave and have a good time in Puerto Rico because there’s nothing to discuss.

Cease is angry and thinks Dutchess is being immature but has no choice but to do as she suggests and walk away.

  1. My thing is didn’t Cease call Dutch a dusty b-tch on the last episode? If she’s so dusty and Tatu Baby is better, then why the hell did he need to talk to her so bad? I can’t stand his bum a-s.

  2. It’s hilarious how much crap everyone talks about Dutchess but look who is pressed over who. Dutchess was minding her business. Even having the producers set him up on a fake date (Tatu Baby), hasn’t stopped him from still trying to talk to Dutchess. LOL.

  3. I’m with Dutchess. What does she need to talk to Cease about now? When she wanted to talk, he blew her off. Now she’s doing well on her own, so now he wants to talk. Men are so annoying at times.
