Sales Projections for Kendrick Lamar’s ‘DAMN’ Released

Hits Daily Double is reporting that sales of “DAMN.” will put Kendrick Lamar close to gold plaque status in just 4 days of sales. The album, which dropped this past Friday, is projected to be close to a half-a-million in sales and streams.

Streeting this week is Kendrick, of course. The TDE/Aftermath/Interscope star’s DAMN. looks like it’s poised to debut at the top of next week’s chart with a projected number around 450k. Single “HUMBLE” is massive, currently sitting at the top of our Streaming Songs Chart with around 26m streams earned this week.

And Kendrick Lamar matched Drake’s single week album streams too:

Kendrick Lamar will become the first artist other than Drake to collect more than 200 million streams for an album in a single week. Tracks from DAMN. (TDE/Interscope) have already been streamed more than 50 million times.

Kendrick Lamar (TDE/Interscope) 460-485k [streams & sales combined], 275-300k album [sales]

Hot New Hip Hop also notes the these results exceed the sales of his previous album, “To Pimp A Butterfly.”

HNHH writes,

If the numbers are accurate, Kendrick will surpass the first week sales of his 2015 album To Pimp A Butterfly, which hit 324,000 units first week. It is expected to be his third album to debut at number one on the charts, following his b-sides collection untitled. unmastered which moved 178,000 equivalent album units (good kid, m.A.A.d. city hit number 2 with 241,000 units sold).

  1. I thought he was releasing the second half today? Anyway, it’s a good album. But GKMC will always be my favorite album from him.
