Karen feels attacked.
Karen has gotten frustrated with the group because they are trying to shade her move to Great Falls.
Ashley angers her when she tells her she is no longer the Grand Dame of Potomac since she’s moving away. In a confessional, Karen says she’s not happy that the other ladies are being extra about her moving from Potomac.
“This is a really emotional time for me. I expected my girlfriends to get behind me and celebrate this move. And for them to come at me like this, yeah they can kiss my a*s.”
Ashley is upset that Karen called her an idiot but Karen isn’t backing down.
“I sat down and I feel like I’m being attacked.” – Karen
“Confront what’s going on in your life with your home situation before you call me an idiot…everybody here has a lot of questions.” – Ashley
“They’re concerned about why I moved to Great Falls.” – Karen
Karen goes on to say the ladies should be happy she and Ray upgraded but Ashley isn’t buying it.
“Karen, it just seems like you’re lying about a lot of things. We just want to know what exactly is going on here” – Ashley
“I came here to celebrate Charrisse and her champagne room. And I’m not going to entertain silly a*s questions. I just want to do me and I’m doing me.” – Karen
Karen then tells the group that they will see the new house soon, but she’s not sure if she’s going to invite everyone due to the responses she’s gotten for moving.
In her green screen interview, Karen says Ashley needs to worry about her marriage and not her living arrangements.
“She needs to focus on her home-front. IE her home-front, not everyone else’s. I hear, you know, it’s a little shaky over there. That’s all I’m saying.”
She’s thinking about having a party to celebrate her 20th anniversary but she’ unsure of the theme. Ashley apologizes because she doesn’t want to get left out, and Karen tells her she’ll think about inviting her.
Robyn tells Juan about the dating assignment.
He tells her that he’s considering a coaching job with a women’s basketball team and Robyn gently brings up the fact that she got a lot of attention from the men in Bermuda.
She then brings up the dating assignment she was given by her therapist.
When she tells him Charrisse and Gizelle have been asking about their relationship, Juan points out their failed marriages.
She tells him that she struggled with completing the assignment and realized she wanted to spend more time with him.
Juan is silent, and this doesn’t sit well with Robyn. He explains he hasn’t said much because he’s never heard this before from her.
In her green screen interview, Robyn says that if they decide to stay together, Juan can never cheat on her again.
“It’s a lot to take in. I’ve never heard this perspective before.” – Juan
Juan tells her he would have cared if she did go out on a date with someone else.
“Six months from now, we’ll continue to work on our personal relationship. Not just functioning as a family, I’ve known you for many, many years. And you’re like, you’re my best friend. You get me. Maybe we can get better as far as hanging with one another. Enjoying life together. Going to dinner. It’s not about me. You cool with that? Alright. We’ll see.” – Juan
“We got six months to hang out.” – Robyn
Juan and Robyn fist bump on their new plan.
Juan eventually tells her that he does want to work on their relationship and she’s his best friend. They will work on their relationship for six months and go out on dates.
Karen is falling in love with her new house.
The new house has nine bedrooms and Karen says she never said she was ready to downsize.
She discusses her 20th anniversary party with Ray and she says she wants a Bollywood theme. Ray on the other hand wants to have an African theme, so Karen says they should mesh their ideas together.
Gizelle meets with Kevin.
Going away to Bermuda made Gizelle realize that she doesn’t want to be with Kevin.
“Great guy, just not for me.” – Gizelle
She tells Kevin that they are really good friends and she doesn’t want to mess it up. Kevin feels like they should take it to the next level but take things slowly.
Gizelle disagrees and suggests they just focus on being the best of friends.
Monique and Chris hope Potomac won’t change them.
Chris and Monique discuss getting adjusted to their new house in Potomac. They agree that they won’t become bougie just because they live in Potomac.
Charrisse, Ashley, and Karen come by to bring by housewarming gifts. She shows them around the house and tells them she will add mirrors all over the bedroom for her “freaky” moments with Chris.
Karen gives an update on her anniversary party and tells Ashley she is invited.
Robyn, Charrisse, and Ashley discuss Karen while shopping for their outfits.
Ashley says she wonders how Karen and Ray’s marriage is holding up considering the stress of moving out of Potomac.
Robyn admits that she thinks Karen hasn’t been real about how things have really been for her and Ray. Charrisse agrees.
Karen surprises Ray, the anniversary party goes without a hitch.
On the day of the party, Karen gives Ray the sexy pictures she took as an anniversary gift. He asks her where her clothes were but admits he loves it.
As the guests start trickling in, Charrisse talks to Karen’s friend Vivian and asks her why they moved so fast.
“You are very close to Karen. Have you seen the house yet?” – Charrisse
“Uh, no.” – Vivian
“No?” – Charrisse
“Not around the house.” – Vivian
“Why did they move so fast?” – Charrisse
Vivian doesn’t have an answer and Charrisse still thinks Karen’s move is suspect.
Monique enters the party wearing Native American garments, not Indian or African. Knowing that Monique may not have understood the difference between Indians and Natives, Gizelle starts throwing shade.
“Sometimes that bulb up there is not too bright. I think she thought it was going to be funny, but no one’s laughing.” – Gizelle
“I said Monique, did you get the invitation? I said did you read it? She said yes. I said did you interpret it as an American Indian, she said yes. I said okay.” – Karen
Conversation begins about Ray and Karen renting their new house for 24 months.
“If you’re saying Ray is the Black Bill Gates, but you’re renting a home, it feels like Karen is trying to overcompensate for the fact that she moved out to the middle of bum f*ck. Come on Karen. What is the meaning of this?” – Ashley
Chris and Michael discuss how odd it is that Karen and Ray don’t have any furniture in their house yet.
“I want to know why there’s no furniture. Is this a front for something, this place, you think? – Michael
“Hopefully, they have a bed to lay in and do other stuff in.” – Chris
Karen and Ray have a toast and their passionate kiss appears to bother the guests, including Gizelle.
“I don’t ever want to see that again.” – Gizelle
Ashley apologizes to Robyn for being so interested in her dating life.
“I want to apologize for pushing you so hard to date.” – Ashley
“I live in a very unique situation. For me, it’s worth it to maybe actually explore what I have at home.” – Robyn
“A rekindling?” – Ashley
“Possibly.” – Robyn
Both agree to end the drama and just have fun from now on.
Karen and Charrisse hug and make up although Charrisse still believes Karen is having financial problems and Karen seems to think Charrisse is bitter about her marriage faltering.
Karen and Ray get a surprise congratulatory message from Karen’s mother and it causes her to break down into tears. Her mother has been battling dementia and it’s been hard for Karen to watch her go through.
The ladies agree that Karen’s party was a huge success and she could very well be on her way to becoming the Grand Dame of Great Falls.
What are your thoughts on the episode?
I wish Robyn would just move on but to each its own.
Monique really made a fool out of herself. She’s old enough to know better.
I really hope Juan doesn’t embarrass Robyn again.
Karen’s clapbacks always make me chuckle.
Monique really had no idea the difference between Natives and Indians. How ignorant.
She had an idea but was being funny, they texted Karen and asked if it’s going to be Indian, Africa or Exotic lol which one and Karen didn’t clarify Monique was doing it to be funny.
She wasn’t trying to be funny. She told Karen she thought she meant American Indian. That right there means she doesn’t understand the difference. A grown woman should understand that Natives are not “American Indians”. She’s very ignorant.
I watched WWHL last night and Gizelle said Robyn will never leave Juan because she’s very loyal and wants their family to stay together. She also said Juan does love Robyn too even if it doesn’t seem that way. So it’s going to be interesting to see where they are next season.
