Teddy and Tina compromise.
For the final episode, Teddy and Tiny make a big hoopla about the baptism site. So Erica and Tina split up. Meanwhile, Michelle and Warryn find out their plan b for their concert fell through. Warryn is insistent on finding a plan c for a way to inspire Erica and Tina to record another album.
Their tour guide suggests the Asha Taura. Despite site being smaller than planned, Warryn will go ahead with it.
“Now lets just hope we can book it.” – Warryn
Teddy and Tina find a local and ask about the specific location where Jesus was baptized, they find out that villages drain their sewage into the river. That causes Tina to go back to the original plan.
They eventually get to the baptism site Yardenit. The whole family changes into white robes and lead to their specific location reserved for them. Warryn leads everyone in prayer and then Erica leads a song she’s inspired to sing. One by one, Warryn baptizes his entire family.
This moment seems to bring everyone together, even Erica and Tina. Afterwards, everyone is in great spirits. Erica notices Tina’s better mood and gets her to write the song on the bus with Warryn. Warryn is happy about this because he notes the chemistry they all have when they get on the same page.
“It’s like magic.” – Warryn
In fact, Warryn suggests that they record the song, called “Farewell” live during the concert.
Later on at dinner, Erica notices that Goo-Goo has been quiet. When Erica asks what’s going on, she tells everyone about the tummy-tuck consultation she’s had.
This news shocks everyone, especially her mom Honey. She says, “She doesn’t have to go under the knife to be happy.”
Erica also feels this could be dangerous. Tina tells her, “Don’t go reconstruct yourself.” However, Goo-Goo doesn’t seem phased by the criticism. Honey is going to try to talk her out of it.
The family shares their thoughts about Eddie as they see the tree planted in his honor.
The next day, Tina and Erica take everyone for a camel ride. Tina becomes the ultimate worrier as she freaks out about everyone riding the camels. While they are out, Michelle lets them know about the concert site. It’s where Abraham first built the outer walls of the city of Jerusalem.
Meanwhile, Honey takes Goo-Goo aside to convince her not to have the tummy-tuck. Goo-Goo expresses how her father’s passion affected her. This causes Honey to change the subject.
Later on, everyone decides to head to see the tree that was planted in honor of their father. Tina and Honey take this visit the most emotionally. As Erica reminisces about their father, Honey begins to cry and this rattles Tina.
Goo-Goo gets second thoughts about the plastic surgery and tells everyone that she will hold off on it for now.
Tina begins to break down and tells everyone that she wasn’t the best daughter. She mentions how her father told her to be a better spouse than daughter.
“I wish I could tell him he was awesome.” – Tina
At the end of everything, Erica breaks out in song to honor their daddy. Honey is still breaking down after seeing the tree.
Afterwards, Teddy and Tina talk about their relationship. Teddy feels that Tina is working too hard and may have a breakdown soon. He asks her if this work-life balance is good for their relationship. She flips it back on him and he tells her that it is affecting their relationship.
“I don’t want to live with her like that.” – Teddy
She tells him that she puts her family over Mary Mary and everything else.
Tina joins with Erica and Warryn outside. When she tells them that she will rehearse by herself, and this worries them. Erica feels that Tina is taking everyone for granted. Warryn tells Erica that because of Tina’s behavior, she’s the flagship artist of the label.
Erica says that their “Farewell” song may really be farewell.
Tina Makes a surprising proclamation.
It’s the night of the performance and Erica is worried that Tina doesn’t know the words of the new song. Eventually, Tina stops by her hotel room but confirms Erica’s fears. Goo-Goo says they are putting together a trash perforce, but Tina scoffs at this. When Goo-Goo leaves, they have another rehearsal of the song, but Tina is behind.
Warryn stops by, encouraging them to leave on time to the venue. Warryn’s heart would break should the performance go bad. While on the bus, Warryn is having them rehearse. Warryn feels this is very important because it could be the beginning of something new, or the end of Mary Mary.
When they get to the venue, they are ushered into a very intimate setting. As the concert begins, they jump directly into “Farewell.”
Tina asks for the song lyrics, and Erica gives her the side-eye. Despite this, Erica helps her out, and they get through the song. They sing “Yesterday” next, and this goes a little more smoothly.
Erica says she loves being in Mary Mary with Tina, and they accomplished so much together.
Honey walks up to the mic and gets the small crowd to say they want another Mary Mary album. Tina tells Honey and the group that Mary Mary is not ending, and they will record a new album.
Warryn says he is happy it will happen, even if it takes a year.
At dinner, Teddy tells Tina they had a great show, but he isn’t happy because he now feels that Mary Mary is back on her plate. Tina tells him that their mom put her on the spot.
At the end of dinner, Warryn prays over everyone.
What are your thoughts on the series finale?
I think they going to regret doing this reality show in the long run because it has really shown how unlikable they really are. This show has hurt their brand I use to love Mary Mary before now I’m completely turned off by them.
