It’s a wrap for Dr. Simone and Cecil Whitmore.
According to People Magazine, the couple has ended their marriage. Apparently Simone confirmed the news to the publication just hours before taping the reunion.
OBGYN Dr. Simone Whitmore, 50, and her husband Cecil Whitmore, 51, are divorcing, PEOPLE can report exclusively.
The pair — who share sons Miles, 19 and Michael, 15 — first met while she was a student at Spelman College. They’ve been married for 21 years.
Simone revealed the news to her Married to Medicine costars Thursday in New York while filming the season 5 reunion, which airs on Bravo this March.
Prior to the taping, she told PEOPLE that she had decided to end their relationship, filing for divorce in October 2017. She said she plans to have paperwork finalized when she returns to Atlanta.
“There is no if here, there are no games. I am not pretending. I am done, ” she said. “I have reached a place where I am in a marriage where I do not feel loved and no sacrifices are being made for me to make me feel loved. I must move on.”
…Though the decision to go to therapy made it appear like things between the two were on the up and up, Simone told PEOPLE their fighting got worse when the Married to Medicine season wrapped.
“It looked like we were improving. The problem is we should have continued counseling, and we did not,” she said. “We let life take over. We were busy over the summer with basketball tournaments, traveling and getting Miles ready for college. We should have kept marital counseling as a priority, but we let the ball drop.”
The final straw came about a month after Miles began college. “Cecil and I had a disagreement,” she recalled. “We were trying to talk through it — with sometimes tense, sometimes normal negotiations in process — and he woke up on Saturday morning, we had a blow-up. I knew that day that my marriage was over.”
“My marriage had ended,” she added. “I could no longer deal with the stuff he was dishing.”
I’m not surprised. And there will be others. Reality shows are a curse to marriages.

Mess. And I thought Jackie would be the one getting the divorce. It’s sad that all these marriages are rocky now except Mariah’s and Heavenly’s. Now Toya and Eugene may be able to save theirs too since their issue is a minor one.
He talked to her like a dog any damn way. I don’t know how she tolerated his mouth and cattiness all those years. The way he stays on Twitter throwing shade like Peter Thomas was a red flag to me as well.
I kind of got the feeling they might divorce. Cecil has a coldness to him and it just seemed like Simone had reached her breaking point. I agree that they should have continued getting therapy.
Another one bites the dust. Damn.
Well she’s been threatening to divorce him on the show so I guess she decided to follow through.
They will probably be like the housewives soon where half of the cast is divorced.
It’s crazy seeing how they were always that couple that mentored the others.

I’m sorry about their split, but when she started staying at the other house I figured it was a wrap then. It’s like she’d rather go home to an empty house then home where her family was. I don’t care about Quad, divorce is what she wants anyway, now that she thinks she’s a big shot. Dr. Jackie it says, got a divorce then reconciled with Curtis, I’m not feeling that one but, oh well.
You can tell she was over the marriage.
