Karen and Ray are on the tip of everyone’s tongues.
One month later after last season’s reunion, it was revealed that Ray owed about five million in unpaid taxes.
Robyn, Gizelle, Monique and Ashley all find this out via the media. Robyn feels like Karen and Ray were forced to sale their home for this very reason.
Meanwhile at Karen’s home in Great Falls, she calls her sister Bridget to vent. In a green screen interview, she says she learned from a “third party” about Ray’s tax debt. She got the phone call two hours before the story broke.
Karen wishes Ray would have talked to her about the situation beforehand.
She breaks down in tears after Bridget tells her that everything will be ok.
In a green screen interview, Karen says that she herself owes no unpaid taxes.
Gizelle and Ashley catch up.
In a green screen interview, Gizelle says she now considers Ashley a friend.
She asks Gizelle how thing are going with Sherman. Gizelle confirms that they are very happy.
The conversation then changes into the status between Michael and Ashley.
Ashley says that she’s a handful herself, so running a business together only made thing worse.
Gizelle says not to walk away from Michael unless she’s sure she’s ready to move on.
They discuss Karen and Ray’s tax problems.
Neither believe for a second that Karen didn’t know Ray wasn’t paying his taxes.
Monique is still at odds with Chris’ mother.
Monique is loving her new house. It’s huge and will aid her and Chris in expanding their family.
She wants to throw another huge party for the kids but Chris says no.
He says his parents should come over to see their new house but he hasn’t spoken to her since she said some rude things to Monique last season.
Monique hasn’t spoken to her either and has no desire to. Regardless, she still wants Chris to maintain a healthy relationship with his mother.
Juan has a new job as the head coach at Coppin State.
He also wants to coach their son Corey’s football team. Robyn worries he won’t have time for both.
He and Robyn are sleeping in the same bed and occasionally are intimate. In a green screen interview, Robyn says they are in a better place. Their finances have improved and they moved into a bigger house.
They discuss Karen and Ray’s issues.
Robyn will be meeting with Karen soon to talk about everything.
She says Karen called her to vent. She encouraged Karen to be supportive of Ray.
Robyn isn’t sure Karen told her the whole truth though. Juan tells her that Karen doesn’t have to because it’s her business. But Robyn says that she has to know the whole truth if she’s going to have her back.
The producers playback the scene at last year’s reunion in which Karen said she wanted to sell the house to move closer to her parents who are both sick.
Juan says it’s important for Robyn not to be judgmental of Karen or Ray. He encourages her to just be a good friend.
“Don’t be like Ashely…you know, bite you in the a**.” – Juan
Gizelle allows her daughters to test out her new makeup line.
Sherman calls and they ask him a lot of questions. He’s the first man she’s been this serious with since her ex husband.
Ashley is still struggling with Michael.
She has a friend over to her sublet as she packs. Ashley is moving back into her home with Michael. Since the least will be up soon, she’s scared things may not work out with Michael and she won’t have a place to retreat.
Ashley says the final straw for her with Michael was when he told her that she is no longer welcomed at his house.
It’s also been stressful for her to keep supporting her mother with her and Michael’s money. Michael is not happy about this.
“I don’t know how to not give her the shirt off my back.” – Ashley
Her friend tells her it’s not okay for Michael to talk to her in a disrespectful manner. But she agrees that Ashley can’t keep supporting her mother financially with his money.
“When we’re on bad terms, he reminds me that this is his house.” – Ashley
Monique is enjoying her new home.
She’s impressed by her neighbors, including the Marriott family and the Redskins owners. She’s happy to be so close to her friends too.
“Except for Karen. Gotta get in that traffic for Karen.” – Monique
She follows this with a hearty laugh in her green screen interview.
As for motherhood, Monique says she’s feeling overwhelmed. Her nanny dipped out on her even though she was supposed to be around for two years. Then she’s running nonprofits for Chris, and still managing his rental properties.
Karen and Ray talk it out.
At their house, Ray and Karen talk about his tax debt. Karen questions why he didn’t tell her about it but he said he did.
“I did mention it to you. It happened several years ago after I purchased another company. I did mention it. I didn’t know that some of the tax matters were accumulating like they did and some things weren’t done like they could have been done.” – Ray
It has nothing to do with her because they filed taxes separately.
In a green screen interview, Karen says that they don’t even have a joint account.
“I don’t ever what to be in the dark, again.” – Karen
Ashley doesn’t feel confident about moving back in Michael’s home.
Gizelle calls her to check on her while Ashley is on the way.
She says that she and Michael argued over her mother the previous night. So she went back to her place.
Although Gizelle says Ashley should hold on from moving back in with Michael, Ashley says she’s going to move forward with the move.
When she gets there, Michael surprises her with flowers. She surprises him with a turkey sandwich.
She reads the card that came with the flowers. They hug and kiss.
In a green screen interview, Ashley says she’s hopeful they are able to move forward.
Michael feels Ashley just needed to have some time away from him. He just hopes they never have to separate again.
Ashley tells him that the argument they had over her mom last night can’t hurt her. She doesn’t want to argue over her mother in the future.
Michael says that outside influences that are hurting their relationship, like Oz and her mother, must be kept away from their marriage.
In a green screen interview, Ashley says she feels like Michael will be over the marriage if she doesn’t establish boundaries with her mother.
Karen and Robyn clash.
They meet at a restaurant. Karen thanks Robyn for urging her to support Ray. Karen says that she’s been asking Ray to let her help him but he’s pretending that he doesn’t want her to be involved.
Robyn says it’s harder to try to pretend everything is fine, like she feels Karen is doing. She still wonders if Karen told her the whole truth or was it just a “damage control call.”
But Karen says that she told the truth and she even asked Ray if he told her about it prior and he said he didn’t. But producers play a flashback of the scene in which Ray tells Karen he told her about his tax issues before.
She shades Robyn in a green screen interview.
“To answer the question, no I didn’t know. I don’t expect everybody to understand that. I don’t expect everybody to believe that. But you’re not married to a man that could even possibly have a question of paying that. You’re not married at all. I’m just saying.” – Karen
Robyn makes it clear that she doesn’t buy that Karen was in the dark about Ray’s taxes.
She says that other ladies feel the same way. Karen then calls her out for sharing their conversation with the others.
Karen feels betrayed. Robyn feels like Karen is overreacting and says that the tax news was “public information.”
“She absolutely stabbed me in the back and I will never trust her again. Never.” – Karen
They argue some more after Robyn says that everyone read about Karen’s situation on the blogs. Karen then makes it clear that she doesn’t read blogs because she prefers “the truth.”
This is an eye-rolling moment for Robyn. Karen then says that Robyn should so her “case search” because she herself owes nothing.
“Karen is debt free and loaded. F*** that.” – Karen
The conversation is now on its last legs.
“The point is you got to make millions to owe millions.” – Karen
She then tells Robyn that she and the others are “backstabbing batches.”
When Karen gets up to leave, Robyn says that perhaps Karen should just in Great Falls by herself.
“Honey, I can live anywhere I want.” Before walking out of the restaurant, she tells Robyn that she is living in Hanover by herself.
What are your thoughts on the episode?
Okay I don’t think I like Monique. She is so new money! It’s annoying how she sits and brags all day about what her husband has.
She’s very annoying.
I rolled my eyes when she shaded Karen as if she can’t end up in her shoes someday.
Monique is the most annoying person on the show.
Ashley really can’t understand why Michael wants her to stop using his coins to take care of her mother? I think that’s a fair thing to ask for.
Karen is such a liar.
I still don’t get Juan and Robyn.
I don’t either. Are they back together or not?
Why can’t Ashley support her mother with her own money? That way Michael won’t care and she can still provide for her mother? Problem solved.
Robyn needs to have several seats. She never liked anyone to talk about her and Juan’s money problems so why is she doing the most about Karen?
Karen look younger tho… I agree with Michael, Robyn stop you have a husband that doesn’t want too be there with you. Why you getting a bigger house tho. She be back in debts and the way she talk to Karen and laughing hell we all knew Karen was lying. Monique is so annoying
I’m definitely Team Michael when it comes to Ashley’s mother. She’s wrong, period. He didn’t sign up to provide for Ashley’s mother. Just Ashley.
All Michael needs to do is cut his wife off or give her an allowance that would not afford her the luxury of taking care of her mother, I bet she will stop then. he doesn’t seem like the type that would just continue to let his wife run through his money without making some serious changes. Monique is annoying and Robyn is still clueless! This is a classic cheaper to keep her scenario. I’m sure he is cheating like crazy. If I was Robin I could never forget the words that came out of his mouth it was no trick editing, he said he would have BEEN GONE if it wasn’t for his children. Let that man go!!!!!! Karen reminds me of Sheree she would rather die than say she is broke. as long as that credit card say approved she will continue to buy and brag about what she has when its not even paid for. They both are living off of borrowed money. smdh
Karen is pitiful, ain’t no way that ole hag didn’t know about his tax issues, he says he told her & I’m sure he did. She is to busy thinking her stuff don’t stink and it does. Last season she talked trash about Charisse saying she’d better hope still be in her home after her divorce, she’s spoken ill about everyone’s situation & it’s nice to see her get her’s. If she & her husband had that many millions then he should have no problem paying the IRS.
