When it comes to Mo’Nique, she’s no stranger to controversy.
She’s been very vocal about her drama with Netflix, Oprah Winfrey, Lee Daniels and Tyler Perry.
And while Mo’Nique has received some support in her call for equal pay for black women in Hollywood, she’s had some critics as well.
Her critics feel like Mo’Nique’s approach has been negative and confrontational.
Steve expressed this during their interview, and he also stated that Mo’Nique’s integrity shouldn’t come before making sure her family can eat.
As a result of Steve’s words, he got dragged by a lot of people on social media.
So he recently told People Magazine that he should have been more careful with his words:
I’ve got to slow down when I’m talking. I can’t get into heated discussions, and I’ve got to just guard my words more carefully.
Steve went on to say that he does believe in having integrity:
I take full responsibility for it, it came out my mouth, so I can’t say that I didn’t say it. But to people that really know me, I have lived my whole life as a man of integrity. So when I was referring to ‘integrity’ in that interview, I was talking about the method in which things were being done, and that is all it was.
He also stated that he regrets questioning Mo’Nique’s methods.
