Throughout “Being Mary Jane,” the main character struggled quite a bit when it came to love.
She’s had her share of toxic relationships, including an affair with a married man.
However, she actually had two men vying for her love on the series finale.
When the show left off last season, Justin returned after leaving when he learned that Mary Jane decided to back Kara over him at work.
He proposed and MJ said yes.
However, she learned she was pregnant as a result of her implanting embryos from a donor’s sp*rm.
When she told Justin, he told her he just couldn’t raise another man’s child. He wished her the best and ended the relationship.
So MJ was pretty much forced to handle pregnancy on her own. Well that is until she runs into her old college flame, Beau.
He attends her birthing classes with her and they become intimate again.
However, when MJ goes into labor a couple of months early, Justin runs into Kara at the hospital. He tells Kara not to tell MJ he was there and he just needed to know she was okay.
Beau is there for the birth of MJ’s son and they continue their relationship. But Kara learns she has breast cancer and decides to get a double mastectomy.
Realizing that Justin still loves MJ, Kara secretly requests that Justin fills in for her at work while she recovers.
So Justin returns and he’s not thrilled to find out Beau is in MJ’s life.
After the two men come to blows at MJ’s job, she is forced to make a choice.
She ultimately decides Justin is who she wants to be with and they get married.
A lot of viewers feel like this wasn’t the right ending. Many felt like Justin has a habit of leaving MJ when things get stressful, and Beau would have been a better husband.
Do you think MJ chose the right man?
As far as the others in MJ’s life, Kara ends up engaged to Orlando after he tells her he’s going to love her regardless of what changes happen to her body.
Paul and Helen stay together after PJ and Patrick get involved. PJ also buys the house, which ends up becoming home to Niecy’s new hair salon.
So the show ends on happy note for just about everyone, well except Beau.
