On the latest episode of “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” Brit clashes with Porsha and Shamea during the group’s first couple of days in Grenada. However, an update from home brings the women back together. Here are the highlights for, “Renew.”
Shamea and Brit start to have tension.
There is tension in the group as the women begin their time in Grenada. Shamea tells Brit it was unnecessary for her to tell Phaedra no one was being shady when Brit’s husband Mike invited Apollo to her launch event. Brit feels like Shamea doesn’t have a right to dictate what she addresses to the group. Shamea becomes annoyed and later tells Porsha that Brit is always defensive. And it makes it hard to communicate.
Porsha agrees and tells Shamea that it seems like Brit has been snippy.
They change topics to discuss Brit’s donation to Grenada hurricane victims. Shamea says it wasn’t a good look for Brit to donate $250 when she came in a Rolls Royce and Birkin bag. Kelli feels the same way.
Phaedra says no one in the group should have given less than $1000.

Charles irritates Angela on their anniversary.
Drew is brought up. Porsha believes Drew should apologize to Shamea for the lapdog label. During a confessional, Shamea says the people she talks to don’t even know who Drew is, so she’d rather be known as a lapdog than be “forgettable.”
When the ladies separate to eat, Phaedra says it was weird for Brit to tell her she wasn’t being messy about Apollo’s invite to her event. Porsha tells the others Drew is dating a man named Black despite denying it.

Angela goes to her room to call Charles. It’s their first anniversary apart. Despite this, Charles isn’t in the mood to be lovey-dovey when Angela FaceTimes him. This irritates her, of course.

Shamea invites the others to take a shot with her. Brit concludes that Shamea is being passive-aggressive when she says she isn’t forcing anyone to do it. Brit recently said she didn’t want to take shots because she got sick the last time and she can seemingly see now that Shamea feels a way.
Brit and Shamea clash.
The tension between Shamea and Brit comes to a head during dinner. After Shamea says she believes people should be ready to donate a sizable amount of money if they show up in a Rolls Royce and Birkin bag, Brit says she senses some shade her way.
Shamea attempts to deny she’s being shady but Brit isn’t buying this. She tells Shamea she is being passive-aggressive. And she suspected something was up when Shamea was giving her a hard time about not wanting to take shots anymore.
Kelli steps in to say that it could be a situation where Brit just didn’t know how much to donate but they all need to be “that girl” in all aspects of their lives.
In a green screen interview, Brit says Kelli isn’t acting like a best friend.
Brit reminds Shamea that she told her to donate whatever amount she wanted. Shamea now wants to move on from the conversation, blaming it on Brit’s “aggressive” energy. In response, Brit says Shamea is being passive-aggressive.
Phaedra gives Brit some housewife advice.
In a green screen interview, Shamea tells producers she and Brit already discussed this at a restaurant before the trip. So she doesn’t understand why Brit was riled up.
Brit questions if anyone else needs to get something off their chest in regards to her. Porsha speaks up and says Brit recently said she didn’t feel supported by the group. This leads to them clashing because Porsha takes offense to Brit calling her baby.

Later, Phaedra gives Brit some advice as a newbie in the group. She encourages her to be more friendly and open to getting to know the other women. She also tells Brit a woman of her status should donate a minimum of $1000 to that type of cause.

The women rally around Shamea.
Not too long after, Shamea’s husband Gerald calls to inform her their youngest daughter is sick with a fever due to the likely neglect of the person who was hired to watch her. Shamea breaks down.

All the women come together to rally behind Shamea. She has been very stressed out about Shiloh’s health issues. Even a small cold can put her in the hospital. So this news is devastating.
Brit hugs Shamea and tells her she has everyone in the room to lean on. She loves her and will even take shots to make her happy. Shamea laughs and the ladies don’t know what to think when Brit ends up topless.

What are your thoughts on the episode?
Phaedra should not be talking at all when she shouldn’t be on the show. I feel bad for Shamea. I wouldn’t wish that on any parent who is trying to work and something goes wrong with their children.
I’m not a Brit fan at all but I think it’s tacky to criticize someone’s donation. Porsha and Shamea are running the show and whomever they don’t like is ganged up on.
