Melody vents to Martell’s cousin.
Melody is getting her hair fixed by Martell’s cousin Alonda. Despite being cousins, Melody says Alonda is Team Melody. Melody spills to Alonda that she told Martell to move out of the house and Alonda says Martell isn’t going to change. However, what shocks Alonda is Melody telling her she’s filing for divorce.
Meanwhile, Maurice is getting ready for school. He has six classes left until graduating. Unfortunately, Maurice’s son is going to spend time at camp over the summer at Michigan State and that disappoints Maurice. When Maurice calls his son, his ex-wife picks up and they have an argument. Maurice says this is occurring because he wants his son to live with him. Kimmi tells Maurice that his ex is upset because she doesn’t want their son to live with him. It’s also unsettling for his ex because he’s now married to Kimmi.
Martell and Melody have an event to attend together.
Later, Martell got Melody to let him move upstairs. His friend Neville comes over and they talk about Martell’s failing marriage. Martell tells Neville that his mistress called him which set this off. Neville asked Martell why he cheated and Martell said he felt entitled to do it. He even bought his mistress a car and other lavish gifts. To reassure Melody he’s done being unfaithful, Martell is going to change his number and stick to the counseling. Neville’s happy to hear of this plan and he’s going to continue to pray for Martell and Melody.
Afterward, Martell and Melody have dinner together with family. The Holts want to give an impression the family is doing well and everything is normal. They know the kids can sense if something is wrong and they don’t want that to happen. They also have to drive to Birmingham for an event to celebrate landing the cover of a popular magazine. Martel heads to the master suite to talk to Melody about the event. Melody lets him know she would much rather have their marriage coordinated instead of just clothing.
Marsau learns Martell has beef with him.
The next morning, Marsau is in the gym when his friend Cedarric arrives. They talk about the business ventures with the Holts, and how they are separating. Cedarric tells Marsau that Martell is angry with Marsau.
Speaking of Martell, he’s driving in silence with Melody. Melody breaks the silence and asks Martell about therapy. Melody thinks it’s a good idea he’s going especially since she feels he’s a narcissist. When they arrive at the Push Magazine party, they put on their best game face on, holding hands as they walk into the building.
When it’s time the cover is revealed, they are faced with interesting questions. They get nervous just a bit when they’re asked what it takes to be relationship goals for their fans and followers. Melody tells them no marriage is perfect. Martell does his best not show signs of marital struggle at the event. Overall, the event goes well and no one can tell Melody’s on the verge of divorcing Martell.
Kimmi is looking to have a good time with her friends Millie and Jazz on a night on the town. Millie is Maurice’s sister and they are hitting it off well. Kimmi’s really enjoying this time out as Maurice’s mom moved in shortly after the wedding. LaTisha shows up with their friend Laquista later as the topic turns to Maurice’s son. Millie believes the strife between Kimmie and Maurice’s ex is centered around Kimmi. They tell Kimmi Maurice’s ex put a lot of work and effort into helping Maurice with his business and feels some type of way about him moving on with Kimmi for her to reap the benefits.
Martell accuses Marsau of cheating on LaTisha.
The next day, Marsau calls Martell and the call gets a little tense. Martell wants to talk face to face and Marsau realizes Martell definitely has beef with him. Martell has Marsau meet him at one of the homes they are working on. He’s glad he and Melody moved on from Marsau and Maurice with the comeback group. When Marsau arrives at the house they begin to immediately address their beef. Martell calls Marsau phony to his face. Martell’s infidelity comes up and he believes Marsau talked about his cheating with the group. Marsau says he didn’t do that and flashback clips play of Marsau talking about the infidelity. Things get tense when Martell accuses Marsau of sleeping with multiple women, which Marsau. Marasu and Martell engage in an argument as a result of this. Neither man is sure if their friendship can be mended.
LaTisha arrives home and Marsau is ready to vent to his wife about his argument with Martell. However, this doesn’t go as planned for Marsau. LaTisha doesn’t like how Marsau responded to Martell and now she’s suspicious about Marsau’s fidelity in their marriage.
