The listening party needs to go well for Ryan.
Ryan is preparing for his listening party and he’s looking to solidifying opinions about his music. And of course, he has to look fly. Fat Joe calls to check in about the event and approves of the moves he’s been making. However, he disappoints Ryan because Fat Joe is in Miami filming a music video. But Fat Joe is proud of the moves Ryan is making. Meanwhile, Siaani is excited about the gig she landed. But Charli seems to get on Siaani’s nerves with the micromanaging now, which is a full 180 from what Sianni’s used to.
Flavor Flav has a long-awaited heart to heart with Da’Zyna.
Da’Zyna’s finally having a meeting with Flavor Flav and Flavor’s late. Eventually, he shows up and she’s excited to see him. She does her best to convince her dad to hop on Quan’s track. Da’Zyna also wants their relationship to be better and Flavor closer to all of them. Despite the fights they had in the past, she still loves her father. She also reveals to Flavor she was homeless. This begins to break down Flavor. However, it doesn’t seem that Flavor and Da’Zyna’s relationship is going to be better anytime soon.
On the bright side, Flavor commits to holding his end of the communication bargain. He regrets not being there for his kids and says he wants to improve this.
Ryan and Siaani show up late irritating Madina.
Madina’s really wants to keep Ryan’s party on the up and up. But when she walks into the shop, it’s nowhere near being set up. This makes her go off as Ryan or Siaani not present. So she calls Ryan over and goes off on him as she needs this party not to go bad. As people begin to show up, Siaani eventually shows up two hours late. The cast also shows up, even Lil Mama. Vina arrives and Ryan definitely has a crush on her. But while calling himself any woman’s fantasy, Ryan isn’t too worried about the relationship between Arnstar and Vina. Luckily for Ryan, Vina’s also feeling him and they flirt with one another at the party.
Meanwhile, Madina is going off on Vina as she’s still setting up for the party. This causes Sianani to start crying and that causes an even further delay in the music. Ryan says Siaani needs her to pull it together before the party is ruined. Producers step in and calm her down. Luckily for Siaani, everyone jumped in and helped her with the setup.
Later on, Vina wants to address this “platonic” thing with Arnstar. So she pulls Arnstar outside and asks about the platonic comment. Arnstar’s adamant he’s is not taking things romantically with Vina, despite what Madina wants to see.
Lil Mama recaps her party with Brittney and Madina overhears this. Madina definitely feels the party wasn’t successful and scoffs at Lil Mama’s recollection of events. When Lil Mama tells Ryan her party was popping, Madina had enough. She’s going to talk to Lil Mama about these conflicting details.
Flavor Flav agrees to join his kids in the studio.
Da’Zyna was able to get Flavor Flavor with Quan to talk about the song. When Da’Zyna brings up the studio time booked, Flavor Flav’s finally ready to keep everything in the family and wants to make the record happen. This takes a tremendous weight off Da’Zyna’s back.
It’s the end of Ryan’s listening party and Ryan’s honored to have everyone showed to his event. He also has Siaani play his new record “Say Less.” Everyone’s impressed with the record.
Afterward, Ryan asks Madina about Vina and if she has a boyfriend. Madina’s surprised by this and tells Ryan he might not be Vina’s type to but to shoot his shot anyways. Siaani’s still not feeling everything because Charli missed the whole event; the good, bad and ugly. Madina feels some kind of way about this too. Charli brings up she had a serious accident breaking her leg. As a result, it’s slowed her down and she couldn’t be as involved in Siaani’s career as she wanted to be.
Madina gets messy with Lil Mama.
Lil Mama, on the other hand, is happy to see Charli and gives her a big hug. She also invites Chari to a future event with her and Siaani. Meanwhile, Madina’s outside, smoking a cigarette and ready to give Lil Mama a piece of her mind. When Lil Mama leaves, Madina tells her to holla the next time she wants to throw a party because it was a complete dud. Lil Mama calls Madina very messy and doesn’t take kindly to the shade.
No matter what Madina said, Lil Mama feels the party was popping. In her interview, Lil Mama says Madina was begging to go to the VIP area. When Madina brings up Lil Mama showing up late one more time in a really shady way, Lil Mama walks away before things escalate.
Quan and Da’Zyna finally got Flavor Flav coming to the studio and Quan’s bugging. Quan can’t seem to find the beat and Da’Zyna wants Quan to get it right before Flavor Flav shows up. However, that isn’t the case. Flavor shows up and Quan’s thrown off his game even more.
The episode ends with Quan struggling in the studio.
