LaTisha vents to Kimmi.
LaTisha and Kimmi are hanging out as LaTisha’s preparing for the friendly cabin trip. The Holts are also attending and LaTisha isn’t looking forward to seeing them. Instead, she’s bringing some treats for the bedroom to use with Marsau. She’s also feeling some type of way about Melody after their conversation and she’s not ready to be friends with Melody again. However, Kimmi wants them to reconcile their friendship.
Meanwhile, Martell’s properties are done and he’s hosting an open house. Melody’s there and they receive news one of their homes are selling. Their friends Andrea and Neville show up along with Kimmi and Maurice. Despite the personal issues, Maurice’s excited about their achievements. Kimmi pulls Melody aside to talk about her conversation with LaTisha. She hears Melody’s side of things and Kimmi tells Melody that LaTisha feels Melody isn’t supportive. Melody then brings up how LaTisha got messy when her husband’s affairs and allegations came up. Kimmi asks if Melody could get past this and Melody says she can’t.
Maurice does his best to stay neutral.
Meanwhile, Maurice pulls Martell aside to talk about his beef with Marsau. Martell feels Maurice is level-headed and Maurice feels mistakes were made on both sides. Martell is ready to put Marsau’s skeletons out there and stands behind the belief Marsau had over 20 affairs. The cabin trip comes up and Martell suspects their friend is looking to bring Martell and Marsau together to squash beef. But Martell is ready to unfriend Marsau for good if things don’t work out.
The next day, Maurice calls up his ex Kiuwha to talk about their son coming to live with him. Kiuwha says Maurice left Detroit by choice and therefore he gave up the chance for their son to live with him. She also says Kimmi is a major problem for her. Maurice knows their relationship started off rocky but he wants Ki and Kimmi to put their differences aside. In fact, he suggests she check out Huntsville and possibly move down with her husband.
Wanda confronts Marsau.
Meanwhile, Kimmi’s working on her podcast and Marsau is willing to be supportive. So he’s going to be her first guest. But his support gets tested when LaTisha’s mom Wanda comes over with suitcases. The kids are excited to see her but Marsau isn’t too thrilled. LaTisha’s mom barges into their bedroom and confronts Marsau about the rumor. Marsau tells Wanda that the rumor is a complete lie.
Melody’s mom Vanessa comes to visit and help out with the kids. Vanessa’s surprised to hear Melody and Martell are sleeping in separate rooms. She gets angry about what happened and tells Melody that Martell needs to be checked.
Speaking of Martell, he’s seeing Dr. Francis for his session and tells the doctor about his conversation with his uncle. This turns to Martell talking about not having his father in his life. This absence inspired Martell to be present in his kids’ lives. However, Dr. Francis points out it takes more to be a great parent and spouse than just being present. Lastly, Martell says he no longer should lust after other women.
Melody’s financial advisor doesn’t like her divorce idea.
Later on, Maurice’s sister Millie is at the office with Maurice and they talk about Ki coming down to Huntsville. Millie calls this idea stupid. Maurice believes they all can co-parent. However, Kimmi and Ki aren’t going to see this the way Maurice looks at this and says they don’t respect one another. Meanwhile, Melody takes her attorney’s advice and sees their financial advisor Ron. Ron says she and Martell are building a dynasty together and it’s important for Huntsville. However, Melody doesn’t see it that way. She wants a clean break in her divorce.
She scoffs at Ron’s idea of putting off the divorce for at least a year. By doing this, this would let them increase their assets by over $500,000. He also tells her to work it out with Martell. But Melody says this is why older generations stayed in toxic marriages.
