“Love And Hip Hop Atlanta” star Shekinah is celebrating her birthday today. But it hasn’t been easy since she’s been receiving backlash for hours now.

She recently hopped on Instagram Live to give her thoughts on the looting that took place after protests in Atlanta a couple of days ago. The protests have been in response to the killing of George Floyd in Minnesota. After Floyd was put in handcuffs after he was accused of using a counterfeit $20 bill at a nearby deli, officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on Floyd’s neck for several minutes. Floyd repeatedly told Chauvin that he could not breathe and he was in pain all over his body. Those who witnessed the horrifying moment even screamed for the officer to get off George’s neck.

However, Chauvin would not move. And Floyd died. Since then, Chauvin has been arrested and charged with third-degree murder and second-degree manslaughter.

People all over the country have been protesting and demanding justice for Floyd as well as others who have been victims of police brutality. Riots have also been happening, with many talking to social media to offer their thoughts as some people have been looting in major cities.

After a successful Atlanta protest and brought in many attendees, there were later incidents of riots and looting in the city.

Shekinah voiced her displeasure about this. But her comments didn’t sit well with a lot of people. And they felt Shekinah was more upset about a Gucci store being vandalized.

Shekinah got wind of the message and responded with some love of her own.

In addition to protesting, you can also donate money to help those who have been arrested while marching in Minnesota. “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Williams is also bailing out Atlanta protestors with Dennis McKinley.
