Martell and Melody are back together
Melody having her pregnancy shoot, not wearing her ring and concerned about her marriage. However, Martell’s still in the picture.
In between shoots, Melody’s getting styled by her longtime stylist Alonda. Martell’s talking to his friend and photographer Neville about what happened with his mistress. Martell refuses to talk about it. He’s seemingly done with her and regaining Melody’s trust.
He’s also given Melody his phone and social media passwords, and she goes through his DMs. For Martell, it’s the least he could do.
Melody’s brother checked Martell
As it snows in Huntsville, Melody meets with her brother Marcus. He retired from his 25-year teaching job and is now a property broker. While they’re talking, Marcus revealed he checked Martell about treating Martell badly. Apparently, kids in his class were bringing up what was going on between Melody and Martell. They then talk about Melody’s baby shower and she wants to invite their father. They haven’t spoken in over a year and their relationship is estranged.
Meanwhile, Martell’s with the kids and he has them making gifts for their new baby sister. Cedarric stopped by to help Martell put together the nursery. Cedarric brings up how he’s seeing tons of screenshots of the drama between Martell, Melody, and the Mistress. Including a car getting damaged.
Interestingly enough, Cedarric knows Martell’s mistress as he frequented a restaurant she worked. Martell tells Cedarric he’s moving on from it. However, it was that drama that coming public as the reason why he called his mistress a peasant.
Melody and LaTisha had a war of words on Twitter
The next day, The whole family is together for a special doctor visit. Melody’s having a 4D ultrasound done to see her daughter and Melody’s mom is even there. Martell says their youngest daughter couldn’t have come at a better time. He also says he’s going to do all he can to keep the family together. Melody feels Martell is doing better also and hopes this time, it lasts.
After the ultrasound, Melody meets with her planner and team to make sure the baby shower goes off without a hitch. Melody goes over every detail with the team. During the meeting, Melody and Martell will use social media to help name their baby. During the meeting, Melody calls Kimmi as she’s confirming the final headcount. Kimmi asks if LaTisha and Marsau were invited. Melody is still angry over what happened last season and those Scotts aren’t on the invite list.
Apparently, in-between seasons, the Scotts and Melody got into a war of words on Twitter and Melody says LaTisha and Marsau were disrespectful towards her mom and the kids.
Martell’s still in therapy.
As Melody meets with her team, Martell meets with his therapist. Martell tells his therapist he’s stopped all infidelity and his marriage is improving. His communication is stronger with Melody.
Martell also says his past behaviors wrecked his marriage and he knows how to fix it. Martell and his therapist also talk about his father. He hasn’t gotten as far with his dad as he hoped for. However, Martell isn’t angry about his dad not being around when he was younger. Martell says his father was in prison for many years. But he was hurt to learn that the times his dad was out, he didn’t contact Martell. He would’ve loved to have his dad around when he was growing up and he’s is hopeful his dad will come around now.
It’s the day of the baby shower and everything looks glamorous. The Holts are greeted by their guests as they are chauffeured by horse and carriage to the entrance. Kimmi and Maurice are there and Kimmi wishes Latisha and Marsau were invited. However. Melody doesn’t seem to mind as she greets everyone.
Destiny confronts Kimmi.
As the event gets underway, Kimmi finds Melody to congratulate her. Melody and Martell’s friends Destiny and La’Berrick are hosts for the baby shower. Marlene and Vanessa, Martell and Melody’s parents, are eating together and they speak about their kids’ marriage. Things seemingly get awkward when Martell’s mom Marlene says she’s staying out of their drama but Vanessa reveals she talked to Martell about everything.
Melody, meanwhile, received good news from Destiny. Destiny’s 9 weeks pregnant. Next, Kimmi comes back over to talk about LaTisha and Marsau not invited. Melody tells Kimmi about the Twitter war of words she had with LaTisha. She’s extra peeved because Latisha texted Melody to apologize but later shaded her on Twitter. Destiny comes over to address some comments made by Kimmi during the cabin episodes last season. Apparently, Destiny didn’t like the tone Kimmi used when she said she didn’t know La’Berrick and Destiny. In a flashback scene, Kimmi says she didn’t know La’Berrick but he made good chicken. Kimmi’s caught off guard with Destiny’s brings this up. But Kimmi maintains that she really didn’t know them. In a green screen interview, Kimmi says Destiny needs thicker skin if she’s going to be in the group.
Destiny also brings this up again and shades Kimmi during her speech. This makes Kimmi unconformable.
Martell got real messy in the group chat.
Later on, Melody’s brother Marcus shows up and he learns from Melody their dad couldn’t make it. Their father told Melody he had a previous engagement he couldn’t get out of. Melody’s disappointed and hopes he can begin putting family first. When Martell and Maurice catch up, Maurice mentions some comments Martell made in their group text.
Martell, in a bit of anger towards Marsau, texted, “Latisha having a tummy tuck and a butt job, and you still weren’t satisfied.” This was texted after Marsau threw a jab.
Not to be outdone, Marsau mentioned that he has a racy video of someone’s mom. Martell confronts Maurice for defending his brother and sister in law during the reunion. Martell feels Maurice should stay out of the drama between the Holts and his brother. But Maurice believes he’s been neutral.
