Mendeecees’ legal issues were stressful.

Yandy Smith shared a lot about her life on the latest episode of TV One’s “Uncensored.” While she’s had a lot of success on “Love And Hip Hop New York,” she’s had her share of obstacles, too. And not just on a professional level.

In fact, Yandy revealed that she was afraid of how people would react once they found out about Mendeecees Harris’ legal problems. And she wondered about how people would receive them not being legally married.

She said, “I had to watch the love of my life turn himself in while I was shooting. I was so nervous about judgment because of what was getting ready to air in the next couple of months on TV. I remember feeling so elated when I walked down the aisle of my wedding but knowing I wouldn’t be able to sign the papers right then and there because we had this case. It was over our heads, and we didn’t know what he was going to have to sign to, as far as damages. Or if he had to pay money back.”

The situation made Yandy resilient.

She added, “I remember watching all of these things on TV and I learned also that when you don’t give up, when you don’t stop in that moment, there will one day be a day when you can look back. And I always got to look back, whether it was a couple months later or by the time the show was airing and say, ‘D*mn, I remember not being able to get out of bed because this was happening.’ Or, ‘I remember being so incredibly depressed because this was happening.’ But look at me today. I’m good.”

Yandy spoke on these situations making her resilient, “And that gave me a lot of, I guess resilience. It gave me very thick skin when I go through things, where I know you’ll get through it. Just wait for tomorrow. Tomorrow’s coming, tomorrow’s coming.”

It was a scary day when the feds came to the house.

She also talked about the scary moment when she herself learned about his legal problems, “My baby was 2 months old when federal agents came to my house. And I just remember being so confused like, ‘Well, what questions would you guys, all ten of you officers that are in my house, have for him?’” She added, “And at the time, his son was in my house sleeping, his big son. And my little baby, my new little baby boy, was in the house sleeping.”

Yandy continued, “And I remember they came in looking through all of the rooms, guns drawn, and I’m like, ‘I have a baby here. There’s babies in my bed, please.’ After a couple of days or whatever, he had to turn himself in. And I remember being so, so scared of what this meant for my future.”

Depression was another battle.

She also said she ended up in a state of depression, “And I remember going through such a horrible time that I couldn’t produce milk to feed Omere. So not only was I literally starving myself, I was now starving my baby. I remember just feeling like, ‘I’m gonna have to give my baby away because I’m killing my baby.’”

Yandy once again worried about what the world would think, “I beat myself up so much thinking about what the world is gonna say about me, what the world is gonna think, and all the people that I’m gonna disappoint. And I took it out on myself. I took it out on my body. And um, eventually, I transferred it to my baby.”

She said that her mother came over and they prayed together. And this is when things began to change, “And I’m so thankful for the mother that I have because I believe I am only alive and I’m able to tell this story because she prayed.”
