Regardless of the criticism, Ashley stands by her choice.
Ashley continues to talk to Gizelle and Robyn about her agreeing to write a character statement for Monique. Even though the women don’t see how Candiace can take this news well, Ashley still plans to reveal this information to Candiace during their dominatrix party. And as far as Ashley is concerned, writing the character statement will make them even.
Gizelle has questions about where Candiace and Karen stand.
While the ladies are at the beach, Gizelle talks to Candiace while Karen is away taking pictures with Ashley. And Gizelle asks Candiace how she’s really feeling about Karen as of late. Candiace says she looks at Karen differently after she didn’t ice out Monique. And Gizelle says, “As you should.”
Candiace isn’t sure she can trust Karen anymore. And she doesn’t feel, “the full weight of Karen’s support.”
Karen’s ulcer isn’t believed.
The ladies go to dinner and they take interest in Karen ordering a glass of champagne. They bring up her ulcer and Karen says she took medication prior, so she’s fine to have champagne. In a green screen interview, Gizelle says Karen is lying about having an ulcer. And she’s been too afraid to drink because she doesn’t want to get drunk and spill her own tea again.
Robyn tells Karen her pictures weren’t used.
After the women do more sightseeing, they have lunch. Robyn then breaks the news that her website for Embellished is finished, but she won’t be using Karen’s pictures. She’s happy with everyone else’s though. Karen says she really doesn’t care.
Gizelle talks to Ashley about her relationship with Jamal. She feels they are in a great space and they talk all the time. They have a great friendship and she’s working on becoming a better communicator.
Later on, Karen tells the others she has a wig line coming out. In a green screen interview, Gizelle says Karen is always coming up with new businesses. Regardless, Karen is inviting all the women to come to her wig launch party. Robyn then asks if Monique will be invited.
Karen says she’s not inviting Monique because it’s not a good idea for Monique to be around everyone else at the moment.
Gizelle questions Karen’s mouth being in retirement.
Back at the hotel, the women have a dominatrix party. Ashley starts everything off by asking questions. She asks the women the last time they orally pleased their men. Gizelle says she did so before she left for Portugal, and Karen says she hasn’t in two and a half years. Her mouth is in “retirement.” And it’s because she’s been going through some things.
In a green screen interview, Gizelle says she believes if a woman doesn’t orally please her man, someone else will do it for them.
Ashley comes clean.
After all the questions and games are played, Ashley tells Candiace about the statement. Wendy, Candiace, Gizelle, and Robyn gang up on her for it. But Ashley doesn’t back down and she says she’s standing up for her friend Monique. So Candiace can move forward how she pleases because Ashley no longer cares.
Karen then becomes the target after she says that what Monique did was wrong. And she begged her to apologize to Candiace. Candiace says Karen shouldn’t’ have to tell Monique to apologize. Karen then says she saw something happen during the altercation that the others missed. They all demand to know what this is.
Karen stands firm.
In a green screen interview, Karen says she saw the statement Candiace wrote for the court and in it, Candiace admitted that she actually “released a glass at Monique in self-defense.” And she’s waiting for Candiace to admit that.
After Candiace breaks down in tears and says that she is now taking anxiety medication, Gizelle says she hopes Karen sees how wrong she is. And in a green screen interview, Gizelle says that everyone knows Monique is wrong. And Karen is on the “wrong team.”
When Candiace goes back to her hotel room, she calls Chris and tells him about Ashley writing a character statement. The statement discusses the butter knife incident. And she and Chris claim that Monique said she didn’t like Ashley and hasn’t forgiven her.
Michael has no sympathy for Candiace.
Ashley calls Michael, and he says the fact is Ashley could have done something legally to Candiace after she “brandished
a knife” at her. Michael doesn’t like Candiace and he says Ashley owes her no loyalty after that. He thinks it’s absurd that Gizelle, Wendy, and Robyn are trying to make Ashley feel like she owes Candiace anything.
And when Ashley tells Michael that Candiace said Monique was actually bashing Ashley being her back, Michael says Candiace is a liar who can’t be trusted.
Chris and Candiace talk about Karen. Candiace feels Karen doesn’t have her back and she’s really supporting Monique.
