“Married to Medicine” star Mariah Huq was the target of drug accusations.
Mariah Huq had a very dramatic departure from “Married to Medicine.” On the previous season, she was still dealing with the lingering effects of Quad Webb’s accusations. While arguing at a previous reunion, Mariah accused Quad of sleeping with her former brother in law. In response to this, Quad accused Mariah of using drugs.
She would go on to do an interview and accuse Mariah of even doing drugs before filming.
Mariah denied this and decided to take multiple drug tests. One of the tests was said to go back to ten years. Toya Bush-Harris accompanied Mariah when she went to the facility to get the test done. Regardless, Quad wasn’t impressed. And she refused to back down from the accusations.
Some of the other women on the show weren’t all that supportive of Mariah either. At one point, Dr. Heavenly Kimes said she believed what was alleged. But she would later say on Twitter that she doesn’t know if there’s any truth to what Quad alleged. But she honestly doesn’t think any of the women on the show do drugs. And she misspoke out of anger.
Dr. Jackie Walters flat out refused to look at Mariah’s drug test results. She said the reason for this is she didn’t want to get involved in Quad and Mariah’s messy feud. And she felt like no matter what she did, it would only upset Mariah. So since they weren’t in a good place at the time, she didn’t want to make things worse between them. Interestingly enough Dr. Eugene Harris said that Jackie refused to look because she’s not on Mariah’s team.
Fans called for a boycott after Mariah Huq revealed she won’t be on the upcoming season.
Months later, Mariah would confirm that she didn’t receive a contract for season 8. Fans were outraged and called for a boycott of Bravo. And in an interview with the Jasmine Brand, Mariah had a lot to say about the behind the scenes politics. She accused Purveyors of Pop of telling her that she couldn’t wear a hijab while she filmed her green screen interviews. Mariah also said things in her contract weren’t honored. And she was not allowed to have any involvement in the spinoffs even though it was agreed that she would.
Interestingly enough, the LA show has met the same fate as the Houston one. Recently, Lia Dias confirmed that “Married to Medicine LA” has been canceled.
Mariah Huq had something to say about “Married to Medicine LA” being canceled?
The demise of the LA show comes just months after Mariah revealed that she would be suing Purveyors of Pop. She claimed she didn’t have a good relationship with the production company.
Hours ago, Mariah seemingly reacted to the news of the cancelation.
On Instagram, she posted a meme that reads, “One Thing About Them Tables, They Always Turn…”
In the caption, she wrote, “? Pull up a chair & watch them turn! Told my FB family this last week..? #QuietStorm”
